itstruethatanyplaceisagoodplace

forministry,webelievethatGod

isolatesspecificplacesofhis

choosingforhisservantstowork.

Wealsobelievethatthisplaceis

ourplace,becauseGodhas

presseditheavilyuponourhearts

(seeActs16:610).

andtopreachtheGospelinmorethan

twentynaonsonfourconnents.

TheLordhasburdenedustoevangelizeFultonCountyinthescenic

AdirondackFoothillsRegionofUpstateNewYork.Wehavespentmuchofour

liveshere,including14yearsofpastoralministry.Weresideinthecityof

GloversvilleadjacenttothecityofJohnstown.Bothciesrepresentthe

strategicheartofthecounty.

Immediate

SpiritualLandscape:Recentpolling(AssociaonofReligiousDataArchives)

basedonthe2010censusindicatesthatamongFultonCountys55,000

residents,only14,557areaffiliatedwithanyChrisandenominaon.This

meansthatonly26%ofallresidentsareChrisanbyaffiliaon.TheRoman

CatholicchurchisthemainChrisanblockwith7,963members.Thismeans

that55%ofthe26%(affiliatedChrisans)areCatholic. EvangelicalChrisans

representonly12%ofthetotalChrisanpopulaon.

PastTrending:Thepastdecadehaswitnesseda40%declineinchurch

membership!Remarkably,thismeansthat9,019peoplehavebeenaddedto

thecountysgrowingunchurchedpopulaon.Goingbacktothe1980census,

therewere30,198churchmembersinFultonCountywithnosignificant

populaonchange(55,153).Duringthis30yearperiodthenumberof

Chrisansdeclinedby15,827.Thisisastaggering54%reducon!Duringthis

sameperiodtheRomanCatholicchurchexperienceda49%declinein

membership.Thatsanetlossof7,549members!

PresentOpportunity:Inresponsetoadecliningmembership,theAlbany

Diocesehasmergedseveralparishes.FouryearsagosixRomanCatholic

congregaonsbecametwo,oneinthecityofGloversvilleandtheotherinthe

cityofJohnstown.Valuablepropereswerevacatedandofferedforsale.One

propertyisnowacommercialbusiness.Whatfollowsconcernsanother

propertythatispresentlyavailabletous.

TheResponseOurburdenistoreachthemostpeopleusingthebestavailablemeans.Tobe

relevanttotheunaffiliated,wemustprovideministrythateffecvely

demonstratestherelevanceoftheGospelmessagetotheeverydaylivesof

people. TheformerRomanCatholicchurchpropertylocatedon9Nicholas

Street(Johnstown,NY)isideallysuitedforhosngamulpurposegospel

outreachcenter.

TheFoothillsChrisanLifeCenterwillofferFultonCounty,andmoredirectly

theciesofGloversvilleandJohnstown,acommunity(familylife)center

wheremeaningfulrelaonshipscandevelopwithaChrisanemphasis.The

medianageis40amongthe12,000residentslivingwithinathreemileradius

oftheCenter. Thisisaresidenalareawithelementary,middleandhigh

schoolsincloseproximity. Acommunitycollegewithanenrollmentof2,800

studentsisalsonearby.

AerfouryearsofprayerfullyseekingGodsleading,wearetakingthe

followingstepsbyfaith:

1. ToincorporatetheministryoftheFoothillsChrisanLifeCenterasaReligiousCorporaoninFultonCounty,NY.

2. TolocatefaciliessuitabletoaccommodatethevisionGodhas

givenforreachingtheciesofGloversvilleandJohnstownandthegreaterFultonCountyvicinitywiththeGospelofJesusChrist.

3. TosecureanacceptableofferonthefaciliesandtrustGodfor

theprovisionofthepurchaseprice.

4. Tocommunicateourvisiontocurrentandprospecvepartnersin

thisministry.

5. Torecruitindividualswhowillmulplyoureffortsasweseek

Godsprovisionoftheneededresources.

1. RELEVANT:DemonstrangtheloveofChristthroughcompassionatecarethataddressesthephysicalandemoonalneedsofthecommunity(Luke

2. RELATIONAL: BuildingmeaningfulrelaonshipsasthefoundaonforpresenngtheclaimsofJesusChristclearlyandeffecvely(Ma 11:19b).

3. REDEMPTIVE:MakingdisciplesofJesusChristwhoarecommiedtoliving

livesthatpleasehim(Ma 16:24).

4. RESTORATIVE:HelpingdiscipleswhohavewanderedfromtheLordorhave

sufferedfromunhealthylocalchurchexperiences(Luke22:3132).

5. REPRODUCTIVE:Equippingdisciplestogrowspirituallybytrainingthemto

becomeeffecvewitnessesofJesusChristandcompetentdefendersofthefaith(Eph4:12;2Tim2:2).

WearetrusngGodtopermitthesefaciliestoaccommodateaerschoolprogramsforchildren,youthrecreaonalevents,summerDayCamps,Chrisanconcertsandconferences,AlphaCoursesmallgroupevangeliscmeengs,andthelocalchurchministryofNewLifeBibleFellowship.Our

desireisthatthesefacilieswillaccommodateanonresidenalCityMissiontoaddressthephysicalneedsofmanyarearesidentsinneedofbasicnecessies.BreakthroughCounselingAssociateswillofferpastoralcounseling
