HOW ALEX SCOTT GREW A FRONT-YARD LEMONADE STAND INTO A WORLD-RENOWNED NON-PROFIT CHARITY.
The Founding of a Foundation
The Founder: Alex
Alexandra “Alex” Scott was born on January 18th, 1996.
Before her first birthday, Alex was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a form of pediatric cancer.
In 2000, neuroblastoma had not yet been defeated, as doctors discovered newly emerged tumors.
During a stem cell transplant in 2000- when she was four- Alex asked to hold a front-yard lemonade stand with hope to “help other kids.”
Her lemonade stand raised an astounding $2,000.00 that day.
Alex’s journey to find a cure, began quicker than anyone could imagine.
A sad summer day sounded the end of Alex’s reign as the lemonade queen.
On August 1, 2004, Alex passed away.
Alex raised over a million dollars towards finding a cure for pediatric cancer.
