Bulletin for March 2018

March, 2018

Dear Parish Family,

During this Lenten season, we continue our journey on wellness. For the Lenten

season, we are focusing on emotional wellness. We need to ask ourselves

questions, such as, am I angry with someone or holding resentment toward

someone? Am I grieving a loss or holding on to a grudge? When we search our

heart for the answers to these questions, we continue on our journey of wellness.

Our parish offers many ways to deal with our emotional struggles. We have

support groups, prayer groups, spiritual directors, counselors and programs to

enhance emotional wellness. However, it is up to you. Are you ready to live in the

freedom and love that Christ wishes for you? Are you ready to realize that you are

not meant to do this alone? Are you ready to heal and be able to live a life free of

hurt, regret, and pain?

That is our prayer this season. That each of us will open our hearts to the Lord’s

mercy and love. We have many opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Check the bulletin, look at our website, or call the office. Don’t wait, the time is

now, as together we strive to be a parish based on mental, physical, spiritual, and

emotional wellness.

All of this will help us to truly celebrate the resurrected Lord at Easter.

Blessings,

The Month dedicated to St. Joseph

St. Francis Parish News & Announcements

5:30 PM DAILY MASS ADDED Mass is Monday through Friday at 6:30 am in the Church

12:10 pm in the Church, and an added 5:30 pm during Lent.

*Anointing of the Sick will be offered immediately following the 12:10 pm Mass on the first Friday of every month.

Check out our new website! www.stfran.org.

What Does Wellness Mean to You?

I was in the kitchen the other day when I heard the washing machine start to “Bang and Clang” as it was in the spin cycle.

I knew immediately that the clothes had all moved to one side as it was spinning. The clothes had become off balance and as

the machine spun on its axis the heavy clothes on one side began to pull it off center. This got me thinking about wellness

and balance. When I consider my wellbeing I think of mind, body, and spirit (or faith), and the need to have them

balanced. My emotional state must be one of peace, I need to maintain focus on my overall physical health, and my prayer

life must be full. But here was the key in my analogy, it all must center on Jesus Christ, my axis. All of it has to revolve

around Him! He keeps me moving but if I become out of “balance”, everything begins to wobble and fall apart. This in

turn affects my family, my job and so on. When I am balanced around Christ, I am well.
