• the Denver-based quartet formed in 2002 by Isaac Slade (vocals, piano) and Joe King (guitar, vocals), The Fray earned all of their early success the old fashioned way: they earned it. It’s a story you don’t hear much anymore these days: local area gigs led to enthusiastic local press and local radio support.
• Joe and Isaac were former schoolmates who bumped into each other unexpectedly after one thing lead to another they started writing songs together. The songs were catchy enough to attract two of Slade’s former band mates drummer Ben Wysocki and guitarist Dave Wels who soon joined, completing the band’s line up.
• The Fray earned followers through impressive area gigs and the support of local radio, which led to a listener-driven campaign to get the band a record contract. The listener campaign worked and the band signed to Epic Records in 2004.
Once you click on this symbol on the top right hand corner of the page a tab
comes town with the frays music which you are free to listen too. When you
enter the page there are no images of the band so all together and with this
symbol and being able to play the tracks easily it shows that their official
webpage shy's away from the artists image and focuses mainly on their music.
On the top of the frays official web page there are social networking icons which
are easy to click and take you straight to their pages on twitter and Facebook.
This could show that you can easily stay connected with the band it also could
represent that some of their audiences are young due to them using the
networking sites.
One of the larger things you can
click on, on the page is this
video of their studio update.
This shows that they would like
to stay connected with their fans
and like to keep them up to date
with what they're getting up too.
By the side of the video there is
twitter and Facebook icons so
you can share the video, this
would spread the word of the
band and possibly end up
gaining more fans. These
updates also create buzz for
their upcoming forth album.
Both albums are very minimal and don’t include the artists themselves which
draws away from their image and it lets the album focus more on the music in
the album.
