Started in 2014, the project brings visitors into direct contact with the fascinating history of Ancient Rome. Thanks to a state-of-the-art multi-language audio system (Italian, English, French, Russian, Spanish, Japa-nese, German and Chinese) spectators will hear a commentary by Piero Angela and see some amazing videos and re-constructions that show places as they looked at the time of Roman Emperors Caesar and Augustus. The first itinerary

consists of a traveling show at the Fo-rum of Caesar: the visit starts from the remains of the majestic Temple of Ve-nus, built by the Emperor after his vic-tory over Pompey, to lead the spectators into the excitement of the daily life in Ancient Rome, when officials, plebeians, militaries, matrons, consuls and sen-ators strolled under the arches of the Forum. The second itinerary runs along the beautiful Forum of Augustus: be-sides the faithful reconstruction of the archaeological site, the story focuses on the figure of the Emperor, whose giant statue dominated the area next to the temple of Mars Ultor. A new period of Roman history started under Augustus: as a matter of fact the Imperial Age was one of great achievement, within a cen-tury Rome ruled over an empire which extended from current England to the borders of the modern Iraq, including most of Europe, the Middle East and

PIAZZA DI SANTA MARIA IN TRASTEVERE

A popular destination for tourists and nightlife-seekers, this rectangu-lar-shaped square is home to many no-table buildings including the 17th-cen-tury Palace of Saint Callixtus, the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere - the first church in Rome to be dedicated to the

Blessed Virgin - and the monumental fountain execut-ed by Bramante, with later additions by Gian Lorenzo Bernini and Carlo Fontana.

THE ZUCCARI PALACELocated at the crossroads of Via Sistina and Via Gregoriana, this “Monster House” is so called from one facade of the building, which features large monster faces with their mouths gaping wide, in the process of swallowing the doors and windows. The main character in Gabriele D’Annunzio’s masterpiece, “The Child of Pleasure”, describes Palazzetto Zuccari as the place where «the most perfect essence of Rome is concentrated as in a cup».

CLOACA MAXIMAThe “Greatest Sewer” of Ancient Rome is one of the oldest sewage systems in the world. Constructed as an open-air canal during the reign of Tarquinius Priscus, it was originally used to carry stormwater from the central Forum section of the city to the river Tiber. Much later, the open drain was covered with barrel vaults, and waste from latrines and public baths were directed through the system.

THE MERIDIAN LINEThe Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels is home to a beautiful and intricate meridian-aligned sundial. Embedded in the marble floor, this 45-meter-long object is part of a celestial calendar completed in 1702. A recent memorial tablet indicates that the meridian was used has a solar clock until 1846 when it was replaced by the midday cannon shooting from the top of the Janiculum Hill.

THE OSCARSWith a repertoire of firm favourites ranging from Nino Rota, Luis Bacalov and Ennio Morricone to memorable themes from 1997 comedy-drama film “Life is Beautiful”, critically acclaimed performers Veronica Kizanishvili (flute) and Giulia Bigino (harp) will deliver a live rendition of some of the best Oscar winning soundtracks of all-time.
