Uber is a popular ride-shar-ing service. Uber is currently active in fifty-four countries and over two hundred cities. Uber is worth billions of dol-lars. Uber is convenient as they automatically charge the card on file, so there is no cash involved. Uber drivers make more per hour than regu-lar taxi-cab drivers and work less hours on average. Uber is making the taxi industry competitive for the first time in its existence. UberX is 20% cheaper than a taxi which is better for the customers.

Uber is facing problems due to local laws in the mar-kets in which they operate in. Uber is trying to expand their

global reach particularly in Europe. Recently taxi drivers all around Europe have been protesting due to the fact that Uber is taking customers and do not pay the same fees that taxi drivers pay. UberPOP (the equivalent of UberX) is cur-rently banned in Germany. UberPOP drivers do not pay all regulatory fees and insur-ance fees that regular taxi cab drivers must pay.

Uber is a great service that is redefining the taxi-cab in-dustry. Uber is the future of short-distance transportation and is already very popular all over the world.

Doyoubelieveintimetravel?Ormaybe, fashion time travel? Well, it’s happening. An incredible amount of girls are bringing back the 90s. Clothing from other periods of time have also been revisited, but the 90s inspired outfits are the most commonly seen. Fash-ion idols like Heidi Klum, Alexa Chung, Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker, etc. have been wearing high waisted jeans, trendy flan-nels, cute crop tops, overalls, denim jackets, etc. Consumers have also began to sport these new/old clothes.

Clothing stores such as Urban Outfiters, Topshop, and Brandy Melville have been producing vintage inspired clothing that have been selling like crazy. The store Urban Outfiters has not only been selling vintage clothing but vin-tage articles as well. For example, turnta-bles along with vinyl discs, polaroids, and

many more. The throwbacks we’ve been having are

great, but one must wonder if in the future, clothing and articles aren’t going to be the only thing that changes. What if we begin

bringingbackour lifestyles too?Hopeful-ly, people will start to go out instead of stay home linked to their phone or computer.

Grabbing a bike and going on a bike ride or having a picnic at the park rather than watching shows on netflix. Yeah sure, our parents would appreciate that. Maybe, mu-sic will return to the kind that started it all.

The amazing and inspiring kind. This might be the start of a new era.The hit show “Friends” is one of

the tv shows that has demonstrated many 90s inspired clothing. Rachel and Monicas outfits are especially in-teresting, while Phoebe is a little cra-zy. Rachel wears the typical clothing that stylish women would wear and obviously women in our generation would love to as well. Rachel’s outfits aresimpleand“in”.She’sthetypeofgirl who’d change her whole style to the one that’s the most popular at that time. Monica is a little more inconsis-tent on her outfit choices. She some-timessportstrendy,“in”clothingbut

other times incorporates her own personal-ity and likes to wear unique blouses, pants, etc.

For the first time, a country’s consti-tution will include the term ‘third gen-der’ in a move to empower transgen-der and gay communities and make sure they are treated fairly. Thailand has a large gay population, yet it still remains largely conservative, even though people from the LGBTQIA play key roles in its entertainment in-dustry.

Thai law, unfortunately, does not recognize same-sex unions, which keeps gay couples from taking joint bank loans and joint medical insur-ance, besides barring changes to gen-der categories on national identity pa-pers.

A group hand-picked by the mili-tary to prepare a new constitution, called The Constitution Drafting Committee, began working on the week of January 12. Panel spokes-man Kamnoon Sittisamarn said that the new measure would insure that

all sexual identities and orientations are protected under the constitution and treated equally by the law. “We are putting the words ‘third gender’ in the constitution because Thai society has

advanced,”KamnoonSittisamarntoldPanarat Thepgumpanat from Reuters News. “There are not only men and women, we need to protect all sexes.

Weconsiderallsexestobeequal.”The panel will send details of the

measure to the National Reform Council by this April. It will need to be formally approved by the ruling junta, that is also known as the Na-tional Council for Peace and Order.

In 2012, a group of lawmakers and LGBTQIA activists formed a com-mittee to draft legislation recognizing same-sex couples that would, among other things, enable them to marry. But discussion of the draft was ‘‘put on ice’’ while Thailand struggled with political protests in 2013 and 2014.

Gay rights activists welcomed the decision to include the term “third gender” in the new constitution. “Itwould treat all citizens equally and help to protect from discrimination in all areas including ease of doing businessandalsopersonal life,”saidprominent gay activist Natee Teer-arojjanapongs.

Woman Recieves Gory Image of Ex-Husband

In yet another twist to the mysterious death of Argentinian prosecutor Alber-to Nisman, his ex-wife testified Friday that she received a magazine cover of Nisman’s photo with a black hole drawn on his head, like a bullet hole, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday.

Two days after getting the apparent threat, Nisman, who was set to reveal details about his years-long investiga-tion into a 1994 terror attack on a Jewish center in Buenos Aires, was found dead in his bathroom with a gunshot wound to his head.

The prosecutor received email threats in August 2012 and February 2013 for hisallegedtiestoAntonio“Jaime”Sti-uso, a former member of the country’s intelligence agency – called SIDE – and for his alleged links to Mossad, the Is-raeli intelligence service, among others, Infobae reported

Investigators initially said his death was a suicide, a narrative which was lat-er reversed by President Fernandez who described it as “the suicide that (I am convinced)wasnosuicide.”

Arroyo Salgado testified that she re-

ceived a copy of the Noticias magazine with Nisman on the cover. His photo hada“blackhole”ontheforeheadthatsimulated a gun shot.

Arroyo Salgado explained the judge that she “did not give much importance tothematter”untilhisexhusbandwasfound dead two days later. Arroyo Salga-do, who is a plaintiff in the investigation into Nisman’s death, has appointed two experts to aid the prosecutor’s probe, the Buenos Aires Herald reported.

Friends is a tv show about 6 friends; Rachel Green, Monica Geller, Joey Tribbiani, Chandler Bing, and Ross Geller. Rachel Green flees her wedding day and seeks out a child-hood friend Monica Geller, a New York City chef. They become roommates and Rachel joins Monica in her social circle. The circle in-cludes; struggling actor Joey Tribbiani, business profes-sional Chandler Bing, mas-

seuse and musician Phoebe Buffay, and newly divorced paleontologist Ross Geller, Monica’s older brother. To support herself Rachel be-comes a waitress at Central Perk, the Manhattan coffee-house where the group often hangs out; when not there the friends are usually at Monica and Rachel’s near-by west village apartment or Joey and Chandler’s across the hall.

Episodes usually de-

pict the friends comedic romantic adventures and career issues, such as Joey auditioning for roles or Ra-chel seeking jobs in the fashion industry. The six characters each have many dates and serious relation-ships, such as Monica with Richard Burke and Ross with Emily Waltham. Ross and Rachel’s intermittent relationship is the most of-ten-recurring storyline; during the ten seasons of

the show they repeated-ly date and break up, even while Ross briefly marries Emily, he and Rachel have a child, Chandler and Monica date and marry each other, Pheobe marries Mike Han-nigan. Other frequently re-curring characters include Ross and Monica’s long is-land parents, Ross’s ex wife with their son, Central Perk barista Gunther, and Chan-dler’s ex girlfriends Janice. The show was recently add-ed on netflix and plays on different channels through-out the day.

Coachella is the Valley Music and Arts Festival that takes place during two weekends in April in Indio, California. Paul Tollett who not only the president of Goldenvoice, is also the cre-ator of Coachella, the fourth biggest music festival in the world. In 2014, there were about 90,000 people who attended the fest.

Every year, many people travel to California to attend this hit event. This year, the event is happening on April

10th-12th for the first week-end and April 17th-19th for the second weekend. Some bands performing include AC/DC, Drake, Marina and the Diamonds and Tyler the Creator.

Many people go over the top when it comes to getting dressed up for Coachella. It is going to be very hot, during the day especially. The over-all style is hippie, boho-chic which means you can’t re-ally go wrong with whatev-er you decide on wearing.

High-waisted shorts are in, tank tops, muscle tees are some of the more simpler ideal fashion choices. Some people prefer wearing maxi-skirts, when they are cute, please remember you are going to be walking ALOT! So remember that you may be tripping over it quite a bit. Same thing goes for heels and sandels. Although cute, may not be practical. And if you insist on wearing them, make sure to bring a back-up pair. A more practical

yet stylish shoe would be the simple converse and vans. It’s going to be scorching hot outside, so remember those shades, hats, sunscreen and waterbottles. If you are stuck on where to buy clothes, you may want to check out Free People or Urban Outfitters, where you will be sure to find something for the fest.

For accessories, bracelets, earrings, necklaces, LOTS OF JEWLERY!! Maybe even a cute flower headband to add to the look.

utes,dependingontraffic.If you’re in a situation where you

cannot adopt a dog or puppy, you can also just visit the pet store to simply pet the dogs and give them the love they desperately need and deserve. This is what I personally do, because my fam-ily’s too busy to take care of another dog. Simply stepping into the store and giving the dogs the sight of your smile will help out so much. Visiting the dogs not only supports them through the difficult waiting they’re doing tofindafamilybutalsohelpsyoubyex-ploring your playful side, calm you, give you a break from stressful school work, and basically give you the love you gave them back. This is not only an opinion but studies show that dogs actually help you live longer, decrease depression, reduce stress, and many otherthingsyoumayfindrelatable.Ifyoufindthatyoucannotvisitthe

donating. Donating money to the pet store does not necessarily mean you have to donate a lot. Anything helps. If you do decide to help, you can click on the button below to donate. If you have dog toy, dog food, etc. that you know you can give, you could talk to some of the digital publishing students about the situation and they can help you out. This would help the store main-tain itself to be able to maintain the lovely dogs.

Your donation truly helps these amazing dogs.

Please help out by doing any of these easy things. These dogs desperately need a family and you can help. It’s as simple as that. Bees Produce Blue HoneyThis unusual honey color may be due to a nearby M&M factory.Written By: MaDison De la Garza

Lucky Puppy

Mars Incorporated has pro-claimed that “Chocolate is better in color”withitsM&Ms,butFrenchbee-keepersmaybegtodifferonthat. Since August, beekeepers near the town of Ribeauville, in the north-eastern region of Alsace, have been re-porting their bees are producing blue and green honey, according to Reu-ters. And they’ve traced the cause back to a biogas plant that processes waste from an M&Ms factory. Bees are apparently picking up vibrantly colored, sugary waste from the plant, operated by the company Agrivalor some 2.5 miles away from their apiaries. A statement from Ag-rivalor that appeared in the French newspaper Le Monde said the com-pany would clean its containers and store waste in airtight containers to prevent bees from reaching it. “We quickly put in place a proce-duretostopit,”PhilippeMeinrad,co-manager of Agrivalor, told Reuters. France generates 18,330 tons of honey per year, making it one of the largest honey producers in the Euro-

pean Union. In Alsace alone, about 2,400 beekeepers manage 35,000 col-onies, which produce about 1,000 tons ofthestuffperyear. However,Francehasn’t been spared by the largely un-explained decrease in the world bee population in recent years, Reuters re-ported. Gill Maclean, a spokesperson for the British Beekeepers’ Association, told the BBC that the harsh winter of2011-2012mayhaveaffectedbees’ability to forage. This could be a rea-son why the bees sought out the alter-nate sugar. “Bees are clever enough to know where the best sources of sugar are, if therearenoothersavailable,”Macleantold the BBC.Rest assured: Consumers won’t see blue honey on store shelves anytime soon. Alain Frieh, president of the api-culturists’ union, told Reuters the only similarity between regular honey and their bees’ M&M-tainted by products might be taste. “For me, it’s not honey,” FriehtoldReuters.“It’snotsellable.”

Chances are you go to bed with phone in hand, digging through Ins-tagram feeds or catching up on Twit-ter before putting it on the nightstand and attempting to fall asleep. Blame your electronic devices for your lack of sleep, according to new research from Norway. And it’s not just bedtime usage, as previous studies have found. Daytime usage can also mess with your sleep cycle. A new study published in BMJ Open collected data on more than 9,800 subjects aged 16-19, and found that the longer teens spend looking at screens throughout the day, the

less they sleep that night. That means computers, phones, TVs, tablets and whatever else you’re staring at and swiping. The study’s lead researcher, Mari Hysing, concludes in very clear termsthatit’sthecumulativeeffectofuse throughout the day that builds up to disrupt young people’s sleep pat-terns: “The longer their screen time, theshortertheirsleepduration.” Teens who looked at screens for more than four hours per day were 49% more likely to take longer than an hour to fall asleep, versus only 20% more likely for two hours of use. And

communicating online for more than a couple hours per day makes it three times more likely you’ll sleep for fewer thanfivehoursatnight, accordingtothe study. As for the cause, it’s long been suggested that the light emitting from screens screws up our circadian rhythms, but now that daytime use seemstohaveaneffect, researchersbelieve the devices may be stimulat-ing the nervous system. On the bright side, maybe this means your phone can replace your coffeefix?

Lately there have been a spike in homeless students in the U.S. It has reached U.S. record highs. During 2012-2013, 1.2 mil-lion students en-rolled in public pre-schools and grades K-12 were homeless. This was according to the U.S. Department of Education. This was also an 8% jump from the year before that. Homelessness isn’t just people on the streets anymore. People stay in other people’s homes, shel-ters and other peo-ple’s couches. One of the greater issues of homeless students is that they are often too tired or hungry to concentrate in class. There has been a drop in exam scores because of this.

If it is a struggle for a homeless student to do well in school, I can only imagine how much harder it would be for a home-less athlete. Colleges worry about accepting homeless ath-letes into their schools. If the homeless athlete gets accepted though, it would be a great ride for them. There are sto-ries of homeless athletes that show in

public that they are not homeless and that that they come from a good back-ground. They talk about how they do

what they love to get their mind off of what is going on back home. They choose to stick to better things in life to avoid being a criminal or letting their homelessness become who they

are. It was said that for these homeless

athletes, they are happy when they are playing sports of being part of a team because they feel like a equal. A lot of homeless athletes play well because they want to get into good colleges and be able to support their homeless fam-ily to get them out of the bad neighbor-hood. A lot of home-less students tend to drop out of school and get into drugs or human traffick-ing. These homeless athletes see that dai-ly and play sports to get out of that life-style. equal. Gaming has changed dramatical-ly over 50 years. The first video game ever to be createdwas, “Spacewars!”The creators, Steve “Slug” Russell,Martin “Shag” Graetz, and WayneWiitanen, MIT students who spent over two hundred hours making the first ever video game.

Whis this game, many followed. One of the worlds most famous games ever Super Mario, came to the Nes. Over the years many games sprouted, some of them being- 1 Pokemon 2 Sonic the Hedgehog and 3 Crash Bandicoot.

With today’s technology, many games look like a human being is real-

ly there. Many technical advances have revolutionised gaming today. There is even a system called the Oculus Rift, you put a device on your head and you enter the game. Nothing like this has ever been made, and its only going to get better.

At 9 o’clock, CNN was talking about the Holocaust. Steven Spielberg was interviewing four survivors of the Holocaust. They were all between the ages of eight and thirteen when they entered the camps. Their fami-lies died and everyone else they knew was never seen again. There were twins that were ten that were tested on harshly and both made it out alive, but one later died at sixty. Then there was a man that was a tailor and

sewed nazi clothing and made jew-ish prisoner clothes. Lastly, there was a woman who played the cello and became part of the band at the camp. Her three siblings all died from gas chambers but she fortunately lived to see freedom. Steven Spielberg, being jewish himself, was touched by all the stories and he even started to cry. He visited the camps and he “could feel all the torcheredandlostsouls.”Onaper-

sonal aspect, my grandmother’s best friend, Claire Heyman, who she that she has known from before the war, gave her a box of personal belongs to keep. Claire survived, but her family died. I had the privilege of meeting her when I was younger, and she still has the tattoos. She picked up the box from my grandma and said “This is allIhave, andIcouldn’tbehappier.”The Holocaust is a big part of our his-tory and it shall never be forgotten.
