Well Done Well done to Annabelle from 5-6M and Will from 4-5P who recently held a cake stall fundraiser coinciding with Galston Open Gardens weekend. They raised $400 which they are donating to the BFT. Well done, Annabelle and Will. Premier’s Reading Challenge Assembly (PRC) Congratulations to all the students who completed the Premier’s Reading Challenge. They received their certificates at an assembly yesterday organised by Mrs Saxby. Thank you to the parents who encouraged their children at home during the challenge and thank you to Mrs Saxby and Mrs Morgan for their hard work to make this year’s challenge successful. Mrs Saxby also presented her Library Monitors with a certificate to thank them for their work, plus two merit awards per class for children who have made an outstanding effort in library this year. Please note that all of these awards can be used towards Bronze Awards.

Well done to the students who received a Gold Award for completing the PRC for four years. Congratulations to Sophie A, Lily D, Brooklyn T, Chase K and Jayden S who received a Platinum Award for completing the Premier’s Reading Challenge for seven consecutive years – what a great effort! News From K-1W K-1W have had a fun-filled and action packed term so far, with more to come! In amongst all the impressive reading and writing, our work with numbers, shapes and measuring and our amazing art work, we have had quite a few adventures and exciting moments. Year 1 began this term with an excursion to Gibberagong, where we learnt all about different plants in the Australian bush. We enjoyed bushwalking and finished the day building huts using the technique of the Aboriginal peoples.

We had an enjoyable time playing cricket each week with Coach Harry. We improved our batting, fielding and catching skills and shared lots of giggles amongst some fierce competition! The visit from the Tasmanian Devils stimulated much conversation and we were proud to be raising money to help protect this endangered species.

One of our highlights this term was when Mr Taite (a university student studying teaching) played his trumpet for us. We enjoyed dancing along to the jazz music. Rebecca Wallace – K-1W
