chains. Biodiversity is lost, cruelty is endemic in the food chain and safety and health issues are completely lost in the current agribusiness disaster. Lets reclaim the economy of food with a much more humane, local centred, safe and healthy production which is better for
people, nature, other species and the planet and much more cost effective and useful. Its time to take back control from the globalised mess to a more productive extensive,
benevolent and up to date caring and sharing food production and distribution -kinder to people, nature, biodiversity, other species and not least our pockets- make no mistake we are
paying hugely for the current mess in all kinds of ways ! Lets get change moving ! Lets get checks and balances back in ! Lets eat right to get fitter for our own well being!
Land use is a real problem for climate change and biodiversity. Many people have still nowhere to live, many people in the Uk today are relying on food banks in the Prime Ministers own area. Is this the economy of the 21st century we can be
proud of -no – its a shameful disaster and is replicated in many countries! Its time to sort this mess out all over the world! What we grow reflects who we are ! Lets not grow more
concrete- lets grow living biodiversity, lets grow innovation! Lets grow sharing and caring in our economy! Sharing the commons between us, the rest of humanity and also nature and

He led Friends of the Earth as Executive Director (1993-2003), transforming it into the first sustainability pressure group, with an emphasis on integrating green economics and social justice with environmental
protection in its research, campaigns and community action, with it becoming the UK’s most effective campaign NGO for many years in energy, food, pollution, wildlife, waste and overseas trade issues.
Charles Secrett is the founder and coordinator of a new citizens action movement, The ACT! Alliance, set up to help transform markets and government so that they focus on human and planetary well-being. He is a co-founder of The Robertsbridge Group, a founder member of the Green New Deal Group, and an advisor
on Shell’s Global External Review Committee as well as for Base Communications and Base Cities.He has been Chair of Triodos Renewables (2003-12); a Senior Associate at the University of Cambridge Programme for Sustainability Leadership (2006-12); and, a Special Advisor on Climate and Sustainability to The Mayor of London and a Board Member of the London Development Agency (2004-8). He was a member of the
UK Round Table, then Commission, for Sustainable Development for 10 years. Initially employed as a wildlife and countryside campaigner in 1980, he initiated campaigns with local communities to take
peaceful direct action to protect threatened wildlife sites; and drew up a draft law to protect Britain’s most important wildlife reserves that 15 years later formed the basis for a successful FOE coordinated campaign to replace the Wildlife and Countryside Act. In 1985, he planned and launched the first international Save the Rainforests campaign, focussing on consumer and tax-payer actions against destructive company, aid and debt programmes, and for the protection and sustainable use of rainforest resources and services. He worked with others in the North and South to develop this campaign into the global rainforest movement
by the late 1980s. He has worked on environmental investigation and research projects in Brazil, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Nicaragua and Nigeria. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
between 1972-1977 on a Morehead Scholarship.
Roger Martin Director of Population Matters
"Roger Martin was a career diplomat for 22 years, serving ten years in Africa, Asia and the Middle East and four at the UN before resigning 'in fury' as a Deputy High Commissioner. He became an environmentalist in the South-West, and has served on, and chaired, numerous official and NGO bodies including Environment
Agency, MAFF/DEFRA, National Park, Regional Assembly, Biodiversity Action Plan, Waste group, Local Agenda 21, Wildlife Trust Director, Regional Chair CPRE, etc. He observed in all these that population
growth clearly multiplied all their problems, yet was never discussed. Now as Chair of Population Matters, he strives to break this 'mad taboo', and has spoken on the population/sustainability/resources link at 15
international and many national environmental, economic and other conferences. "

Jeffrey David Turk earned a PhD in particle physics from Yale (1994). After working as a postdoctoral researcher with the University of Wisconsin group at the European Laboratory for Particle Physics (CERN), he earned an MA in Transition Economics from the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary (1997) and then a DPhil in Contemporary European Studies (2003) from the University of Sussex, where he helped coordinate a research collaboration studying the buyer-supplier relations of companies in Slovenia and Hungary. He is now a Research Fellow and coordinator for international cooperation at the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences. He initiated and is one of the lead partners in the research project Habitus of the Slovene Entrepreneur between 1960 and 1990. His research interests are post-communist transitions, biographical methods and methodological issues in the social and physical sciences.Dr Turk organised the workshop “Realist biography and European policy” at the University of Leuwen and now has co authored a book.

Kennet also attended the COP 15 Copenhagen Kyoto Conference on Climate Change as
part of an international delegation involved in developing a green economic analysis of climate change policies.
Kennet has been published in the Harvard School Economics Review, the "International Journal of Green Economics" She is editor of Gower Management Publishers academic publishers series on green economics and sustainable growth and a series with Ashgate Academic Publishers on 20th and 21st century philosophy. Kennet has also been a guest speaker on BBC Radio and has been featured of programmes including Wake up to Money programme. In 2011, the BBC broadcast a radio programme on Kennet's life and work
She was named by One World Action Charity, as one of 100 most powerful women in the world creating change.

Papers for the Conference proceedings must be submitted in .odt or .doc format and should be between 2-5 sides A4 fully referenced and may contain up to 4 pictures or diagrams per paper.
It should contain a 5 line biography of you and your professional interests.Papers for the academic journal should be between 2500 and 7000 words.
Book chapters should be between 1000 and 4000 words.
