Solar Power
• Pre-approved residential customers can receive rebates of up to 50% of the cost of installing a solar system in their home (maximum $14,000), and $4.00 per watt, up to 3,500 watts.
• Net-metering– Customers are paid at the wholesale rate for
electricity going back into the grid
Home Utility Checkup
• Free in-home evaluations designed to help residents reduce their electric and water consumption.
• Includes installation of free low-flow showerheads, faucet aerators, toilet dams and flappers and up to five compact fluorescent light bulbs.
• Recommendations are discussed during the audit and a more comprehensive evaluation is mailed about 2 weeks later.
Home Investment Package
• Starts with a whole-home energy audit that reviews lighting, appliances, ventilation, heating and cooling, and insulation.
• Recommendations are made which may include installation of Energy Star® appliances, insulation, new windows, use of compact fluorescent light bulbs, sealing cracks, etc.
• Licensed contractors are pre-approved.• Green Power Program rebates and fee waivers
may apply, as well as low-cost financing.
Home Incentives Program
• Rebates for purchasing Energy Star® appliances:– Clothes washer $150– Refrigerator $ 50 – Whole house fan $100– Central air cond. $100/ton– High performance windows $1/sq. ft.
On-line Home Energy Audit
• Customers enter information about the size and age of their home and appliances, and their appliance usage.
• Displays a graph showing the annual cost and percentage of their electric charges for each appliance with recommendations for decreasing consumption.
Business Energy Audit
• A free on-site audit of insulation, roofing, HVAC system, lighting, equipment operation, etc. and recommendations for upgrades.
• Special program for dry cleaners– Can receive up to $6,000 for upgrading to
energy-efficient, environmentally friendly equipment
Water and Energy Education Programs
• We provide age-appropriate educational programs to public and private schools in Anaheim including:– Classes on electric and water conservation– Annual water conservation poster contest– Tree Power classes which may include
planting trees or nature walks
Tree Power!
• Partnership between Anaheim Public Utilities and Community Services Dept.
• Provides free trees to homeowners, non-profits, schools, multi-family complexes, and public lands.
• A representative visits the property to recommend the best type of trees and locations and offer tips on planting and maintenance.
