Looe is in a picturesque Cornish Fishing Port, and its harbour is in the sheltered river which divides East from West Looe and has harboured Cornish Fishing Vessels for many generations. In years gone by it was a favourite base for Smugglers who carried out their works from St Georges Island which lies just off the mainland a short distance from the hotel. The Port is still home to a thriving Fishing Fleet which can be seen leaving and entering the Harbour each day on the Tide. There is a Fish
Market on the Quay where Fish landed each day is auctioned.

Nearby Polperro is another lovely Cornish Village. Scene of a number of Film and Television programmes it can be reached on foot along the Coastal Path whilst enjoying the wild life, the superb views, and exploring the small Cornish coves en route. It can be reached by car.

Lying close to the County border, Looe is an excellent base to explore the Southern areas of both Devon & Cornwall. A 30 minutes drive East takes you to the historic City of Plymouth, and from there on to Totnes and the South Hams. Heading West, Looe is approximately 40 minutes drive from Fowey and the Cathedral City of Truro.
By rail take the Great Western service to Liskeard, the nearest main line station, which is approximately 3 1/2 hours from London Paddington. By road take the A374, then the A387, following directions to Looe.

The Hotel welcomes all guests and arrangements are in place to assist guests who may be physically challenged.
The Hotel is however, not well suited to guests wheelchair bound as the lift does not land flush with bedroom floors
