the harbour is Nervi's historic centre, as shown bythe castle and the Roman bridge. Here, far from the city traffic, most social andsports activities take place; it is herethat local life mingles with the curiosityof the "foreigners".The houses with their bright colours, thefishing boats ("gozzi") and the smallbarges aground on the wharf, and theimposing “wisdom” of the EmilianiCollege all contribute to make this aplace full of character. This is whereferries depart in summer, setting out forPortofino, San Fruttuoso, Camogli,Cinque Terre and the Ancient Port ofGenoa. In the picturesque village ofNervi you can chose between rentingboats and canoes, watching a water polomatch, tasting "focaccia" and homemade ice-cream or enjoying, excellentfish and seafood in the local restaurants.
