IN Dept. of Education: myON Partners for Statewide Summer Literacy Initiative
I am pleased to share with you that myON has partnered with the Indiana Department of Education to support
their summer literacy initiative, Hoosier Family of Readers.. Students and families across the state who are not
already reading on myON -- through an implementation or pilot of myON reader -- will have free, unlimited
access to a customized version of myON books this summer to promote summer reading.
Glenda Ritz, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, announced the Hoosier Family of Readers initiative on
May 10, 2013. Her goal is for every student to read at least 20 minutes a day throughout the summer as part of
an overall effort to develop a culture of readers. ―We are fortunate to partner with myON books, a complete
digital library with English and Spanish texts, that is being made available to all participants.‖
We hope you will consider participating in the Hoosier Family of Readers initiative this summer by encourag-
ing your child(ren) to read 20 minutes a day, every day. I have included login information below to help you
and your students get started reading on myON.
There are two basic steps:
1. Go to: http://www.myon.com/login/Hoosier/`
2. Enter the following text in the appropriate fields on the login page:
School - begin keying in ‗Hoos‘ and the system will automatically populate the rest of the text:
