SummaryGawain and the Green Knight takes place during the Renaissance time. In the story, Gawain is presented with a challenge by the Green Knight where he must chop off the knight's head and meet him on New Years. He encounters a lord and his lady along the journey. At the end of his adventure, he discovers the meaning of being a true knight.

Gawain is kneeling before the Green Knight, anticipating the ax's arrival upon
his neck.
The Revelation
Gawain realizes the true courage he gained for bravely facing the Green Knight and following up on the promise he made.
The Character's Transformation
Gawain transforms from a young, inexperienced, and
coward boy, to a loyal knight who no longer hides from his fears.
The AtonementGawain is pleased with his actions and accepts and believes what the Green Knight is telling him of.
