Each of these seniors will receive scholarship money to be used to pay their college tuition or expenses. The higher the amount given in total donations, the greater the amount each participating student will receive as an award.
For some students, this may be the only scholarship award they will receive. Every contribution is important no matter the amount donated.We are a non-profit organization, all donations are tax-deductible.
By working together, we can help the SCC students meet their educational goals following graduation.
100% of funds donated are divided equally among participating seniors.

The ticking of a wall clock, the sound of people chewing or snapping their gum or clearing their throat—for most people, these are just background noises; however, for some, they can trigger a powerful, seemingly unreasonable response of anger or disgust. This disorder is called “mis ophonia,” and it usually occurs with other mental health issues like anxiety, obsessive- compulsive disorder, or Tourette’s syndrome. The severity of misophonia can fluctuate, becoming exacerbated by stress, insomnia, and physical health issues. Misophonia is not easy to diagnose, but treatment should be sought if symptoms are making it difficult to function in one’s daily life. Proper therapy can provide those afflicted with the skills needed to become desensitized to the offending sounds.
For years, people with misophonia were misdiagnosed with anxiety, phobias, and other disorders. But misophonia is a unique disorder with its own special characteristic. Supportive counseling for both the person with misophonia and their family is also important, as the condition can affect the entire family. The caring professionals at Plains Area Mental Health can help.
