OUR TRICKY MINDS!• We are not the mental masters of ourselves.• Science has given us ways to trick ourselves.• The clever use of color is one of the best tricks.
DEFINITION OF COLORS• The property possessed by an
object of producing different sensations on the eye as a result of the way it reflects or emits light.BLA BLA BLA
DEFINITION OF COLORS• Color is more than just hues and shades.• Part of the electromagnetic spectrum.• Each color has its own wavelength, and
each color interacts with the brain differently.
• Colors can have a profound effect on learning and working productivity.
IMPACT OF COLORS ON OUR MOODSRaises the room's energy level. If you want to stir up excitement, it's a good
choice. Beware it can raise blood pressure, speeds heart rate. This color can make people feel irritable. It can invoke feelings of rage and
hostility. It communicates happiness. It's energizing and uplifting. However, as a
main room color it can cause people to lose their temper. It reduces blood pressure, slows respiration and heart rate. It encourages
relaxation. It's considered the most restful color for the eye. It encourages unwinding,
togetherness and comfort. The darkest values of purple suggested drama, sophistication and wealth.
It's usually associated with luxury and royalty.orange can evoke excitement and enthusiasm. It brings out emotions.
Ancient societies felt orange had healing powers.Gray has been known to promote creativity. This is probably because it is so neutral, your mind has no distractions and has no choice but to create something interesting.
COLORS AND PRODUCTIVITY
• In educational environment:Color in a classroom environment should maximize information retention and stimulate participation.
• In work place:Color should decrease eye fatigue and increase the ability of workers to focus.
COLORS AND PRODUCTIVITY• Eye fatigue relief:
1. Eye fatigue can negatively affect your vision and your cognitive processes. Walls that are colored beige or oyster white can relieve eye strain.
2. Eye fatigue relief accordingly increases focus and our ability to work longer.
COLORS AND PRODUCTIVITY• Increased Productivity and Energy:
1. properly color coordinated environments can help reduce mistakes by 28 percent. (Perkins & Will, Chicago 2004)
2. blank, colorless, walls can create a sense of monotony; and that it can foster depression and cause individuals to withdraw emotionally.
COLORS AND PRODUCTIVITY• Different Shades For Different Levels of Development:1. Warm bright colors have a complimentary effect on the
minds of elementary school aged children. 2. Conversely, cool hues of the same colors will have a
more positive effect on middle and high school students and also workers.
CONCLUSION• Strike the right balance between over stimulated
and under stimulated. • It can be a difficult at first • Choosing the right colors for working or
learning environment results in the best level of productivity.
