order to provide a high-quality, relevant, equitable education for all.
May 2015
Happiness is the connection between all the companies recognized as 2015
top workplaces. The Times Union survey found that workers value being
valued and employers that succeed in fostering a sense of connection with
their workers come out on top. Considering that you, the employees,
nominated North Colonie and completed the surveys that propelled the
district to #2, two places higher than last year, is something of which we
can all be extremely happy and proud!
“It is such an honor to work at an organization where our employees feel such a
sense of family, teamwork and genuine respect. With all of the pressures facing
school districts, it would be so easy to be negative, but our employees are amazing!
They show their positive spirit and dedication to our students, the community and
each other every single day. I am so proud and grateful to work at a truly awesome
organization and it is because of our wonderful employees that I am excited to come
to work, even on Mondays!. The Top Workplace honor is truly because of all of you,
and to win it two years in a row is phenomenal!”
Jenna Bongermino, Human Resources Director
With Pharrell Williams’ hit song,
“Happy” playing in the back-
ground, North Colonie accepted
its award as the #2 Top Work-
place (large employers) at the
Awards Ceremony on April 23.
This is the second year in a row
that North Colonie has made the
list, ranking fourth in 2014.

EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION CELEBRATION GETS A MAJOR FACELIFT
APRIL 30, 2015
North Colonie Central Schools recognized 47 employees who reached 20, 25, 30 and 35 year service
milestones in 2015 with a revamped Employee Recognition Celebration on April 30, 2015. Moved to the
SHS Media Center, the new location afforded more opportunity to mingle and reminisce with honorees
and co-workers. The new shorter program featured brief remarks by Linda Harrison, Board President
and Joe Corr, Superintendent, followed by the presentation of Recognition Certificates to honorees. For
the third year, certificates and programs incorporated artwork created by North Colonie students at
both the elementary and secondary levels.
As in past years, the celebration was once again supported by the North Colonie PTA Council who
receives our thanks and appreciation for everything they do for North Colonie students and staff.
Congratulations to the honorees!
