Introduction

… So far, How has IGN Spain worked to provide INSPIRE compliant TN data?

• Identifying the IGN datasets containing the most representative TN data

• Mapping those datasets data model with INSPIRE data model

• Any national dataset isolated is not as complete as TN INSPIRE data model

• Some national datasets contains more information than the features considered by

INSPIRE

• Providing only the mapped data according to INSPIRE schema via:

• Download services WFS

• Visualizing services WMS, WMTS

Introduction

In order to to provide a seamless INSPIRE compliant TN dataset in March 2014, IGN Spain defined a new production strategy focused on:

∗ Generation of the Geographic Reference Information TN DB: ∗ INSPIRE compliant ∗ Considering the TN national datasets requirements

∗ Any TN data in these products shall be derived from the TN BD

∗ It should be as much accurate and updated as possible

o New features types, attributes and relationships: e.g intermodal connexions

• SCOPE: Challenge: to produce TN data for the whole Spain • WHAT? TN Data: 25,000 in rural areas & 1,000/2,000 in cities Near 1 m acuracy in cities, 3 m in rural areas

• Next steps:

• To finish INSPIRE WEB Services implementation: ATOM

• To update the GRI TN to v2

• To update data and improve its accuracy: • 2017-2019: urban roads will be updated all over Spain • From 2019 roads geometry accuracy will be improved

• rms < 1m; continuous updating, 1 version each 2 years • By Mobile Mapping technology

∗ To be INSPIRE compliant does not imply new production data ∗ But it should be considered as a trigger to rethink the

traditional production methodologies : ∗ To be more efficient -> do not duplicate data capture -> reuse data ∗ To provide the data and services that users required
