● Conveyor belts andworm conveyors
The FR-F700 offers a range offeatures that benefit most mo-tor applications. These featuresalso make the FR-F700 ideal forfan and pump applications.
Freewheeling occurs when exter-nal pressures turn a nonpoweredmotor in either direction, forexample static head pressureforces a pump to rotate. Startinga motor in this state could causea motor to trip under an overloadcondition. The FR-F700 virtuallyeliminates this problem.
When the FR-F700 is started it canautomatically sense direction andspeed of the motor, bringing itunder control immediately - oftencalled a flying start.
With an automatic restart after abrief power outage, the Inverterautomatically "catches" themotor while it is coasting andaccelerates it to its preset speedproviding immediate recoveryand minimal loss of control.
For the best performanceunder difficult load conditionsa 5-point V/f torque curve canbe set to match systemscharacteristics.
Sometimes a powered motorcan be overdriven by its load, the motor then acts as a gener-ator and can create high volt-ages within the drive. TheFR-F700 can increase its outputfrequency to avoid tripping.
Optimum motor protectioncan be achieved by connectingthe motor's PTC temperaturesensor to the drive's tempera-ture monitoring system.
The FR-F700 can automaticallyoperate up to four load-con-trolled motors from a singleinverter. As each motor isbrought up to speed it is thenswitched 'direct on line' allow-ing the next motor to be con-trolled. Slowing, is a reverse ofthe same process.
The FR-F700 easily handlesHVAC applications that requirelocal PID control or can act aspart of a larger buildingnetwork such as LON Works.

The FR-F700 can achieveparticularly impressive powersavings in the low speed rangeand during the accelerationand braking phases. Forexample, at a frequency of35Hz it uses 57% less powerthan conventional solutions. And the pioneering OEC(Optimum Excitation Control)function cuts consumption byanother 10%. OEC ensures thatthe motor always gets theoptimum magnetic flux, formaximum motor effectivenessand efficiency.
A combination of many intelligentdesign features and newly devel-oped components (includingthe fans and capacitors) haveincreased the service life of theFR-F700 to over 10 years. Anautomatic warning is displayedwhen the end of the service lifeis approaching, so that you canavoid unexpected failures.Setup is fast and maintenance issimple, thanks to preconfiguredparameters, fast and easyparameter configuration andeasy replacement of compo-nents like fans and terminalblocks when necessary.

Assuming an application witha 75 kW motors, an electricityprice of 0.14 per kWh, thecost calculations are as follows:
Conventional mechanical solutionAir volume 60%, power consumption 90%*:75kW x 0.9 x 0.14 x 24h x 365 days = 82,782
FR-F700 frequency inverter solutionAir volume 60%, power consumption 33%*:75kW x 0.33 x 0.14 x 24h x 365 days = 30,353
Result:This means that FR-F700 generates

The Intelligent Way to Save
Power, Time and Money
The ventilation systems usedin spray-painting plants oftenneed very powerful motors. The intelligent motor controlfunctions of the FR-F700reduce the start-up currentsand thus also the peak loadpower costs. These inverters
also significantly reducepower costs in low-loadoperation, and their ability toperform gentle flying startsfor motors already rotating induct drafts also increases thesystem's service life.
Water utility companies mustbe able to respond quicklyand flexibly to suddenincreases in demand, forexample in the early morninghours. With its multi-motorfunction a single FR-F700 canintegrate up to 4 motors in a
single pump system. Onemotor at time is frequency-controlled by the FR-F700while the others aresuccessively connected to ordisconnected from the mainspower. That is effective motormanagement.
