Presentation Outline

Abstract: "What is Driving the Internet of Things?"

The IEEE Future Directions Committee, the organization’s R&D arm,

recently launched its Internet of Things (IoT) initiative and this is

representative of just one indication that this technology is now on a rapid

growth trajectory. Prof Joe Jesson presents the key technology enablers of

IoT - low-power wireless and low-cost embedded hardware & software. He

will share his key observations as a co-founder and Chief Technology

Officer of a pioneer IoT business, GE Asset Intelligence, and how this

technology is clearly going to revolutionize the insurance, health care, and

security sectors.
