Thirty Second Sunday in
Ordinary Time
Focus:
Today, as we hear about the kingdom of heaven, we are reminded to be steadfast in our faith, hope and love. Jesus uses a parable to teach us about the reality of heaven. He warns us not to become drowsy in our faith, like the virgins who in their foolish lack of preparation bring no oil with them. Instead, Jesus teaches that we are to live in such a way that we are ready to meet the Lord.

More info coming to you this week! Open to ALL Students in K – 8!
This week’s Faculty Focus: Mrs. Trujillo (KA)
In Mrs. Trujillo’s Kindergarten class they have been learning a great deal. They are currently on
the 43rd sight word and are reading! By the end of the school year the Kindergarten class will
have been exposed to 100 sight words. Students have been doing great reading leveled text to
include finding the number of words, sight words, spaces, nouns, and adjectives in sentences.
They are also learning about digraphs. Students are now able to distinguish which words begin
or end with ‘sh’, ‘ch’, ‘wh’, and ‘th.’ In Writing students have learned about sentences and how
to write a sentence with correct spacing and punctuation to include fictional and non-fictional
writing topics that tie in with our weekly themes.
A favorite theme that the students loved learning about was pumpkins. Students learned about
the life cycle, measured and compared pumpkins, tested to see if a pumpkin floats or sinks,
used their senses to describe a pumpkin while having fun digging out the seeds. To wrap up the
unit they had a blast at Connor’s Amazing Acres to see a large variety of pumpkins where they
stated the order of the life cycle of a pumpkin.
In Math students are wrapping up Unit 5 on identifying, counting, and writing numbers up to
31. You may say “WOW 31” but, there is more. Students have learned to count by 10’s to count
on for fast counting using base ten sticks
and grouping items in sets of 10. Mrs.
Trujillo is very proud of their
accomplishments. The sky is the limit and
here we are excelling to go over and
beyond that. We practice our faith in God
through daily prayer and in our actions to
be the best Kindergarten students and
children of God that they can be. A class
favorite to play and listen to while they
work is “Immaculate Mary” and they all
sound wonderful singing and working so
nicely.
