The Board of Directors will begin opening some of the amenities Monday, May 4th. The guidelines below for
each amenity are based on the standards set by the state of Florida. The Board will continue to monitor the
guidance from the state and make changes to the use of each amenity when appropriate. Social distancing rules
of 6 feet of space between yourself and non-family members is required at all the amenities. The top priority
of the Board is the health and safety of all Isles residents. If the guidelines for amenities are not being followed
the Board reserves the right to shut the amenities down. The Board of Directors would like to thank all resi-
dents for their cooperation and patience during this unusual time. Although the amenities were closed, the regularly scheduled cleaning of the Town Center, pool restrooms,
and tennis court restrooms was maintained. In preparation for reopening of the amenities Stanley Steamer was
brought in. The Town Center carpet, furniture, restrooms, and kitchen floor were steam cleaned, as were the
mail center floor, tennis court restrooms, and pool restrooms. All pool furniture has been pressure washed as
well. The Fitness Center carpet and restrooms were also steam cleaned, and all equipment were sanitized. The
regular scheduled cleaning of all amenities will continue. The tennis courts have reopened. Signup sheets have been posted. Please note the tennis courts will be closed
starting Wednesday, May 6th for the installation of new fencing. The courts are scheduled to reopen Saturday,
May 16th. This schedule is weather dependent. Should the fencing project be completed ahead of schedule the
courts will be open earlier. Please refer to page 3 to read the guidelines for tennis court use. The Town Center will reopen on Monday, May 4th for official business only. A maximum of 10 people will be
permitted in the Town Center at one time. No social activities will be permitted in the Town Center until
further notice. The exercise classes which took place Tuesday through Friday will not be permitted at this
time. It is recommended for all vulnerable people who come to the Town Center to wear a mask. The pool will reopen Monday, May 4th. The maximum capacity at the pool will be 25 people. The Board
requests that any person at the pool stay for a maximum of 1 hour as to allow use of the facility by other
residents. The State of Florida is not allowing Fitness Centers and Basketball to reopen. For that reason, our Fitness
Center along with Basketball will remain closed. A date has not been set as to when these amenities will
reopen, but we will reopen when the state allows. Pickleball play will be able to resume Tuesday, May 5th. The brown bin holding the Pickleball equipment has
been moved into the Town Center. After play is complete the nets will need to be broken down and returned
to the Town Center. All Pickleball players must bring their own paddles, pickleballs, and chairs. The Pickleball
signup sheets have been posted. Players will be expected to follow the same safety guidelines as tennis. The Board of Directors would like to thank all the residents for their cooperation with the adherence to the
guidelines for the amenities. The loosening of restriction for the amenities will mirror the guidelines set by the
state of Florida moving forward. Thank you again for your patience.
Respectfully,
The Isles of Sarasota

Its that time of the year where the palm
trees are trimmed. Palm trimming will be-
gin mid-May and will be completed by two
different BrightView crews. The crews will
be working simultaneously within the Isles,
but will not be working in tandem on the
same home at the same time. One crew
will be trimming palms 15 feet and taller.
The second crew will trim palms under 15
feet.
Palms 15 feet and taller will have the fronds
trimmed with what’s known as a 9 and 3
or 10 and 2 cut. If you were to look at the palm as a clock, the lowest palm
limbs will be between 9 and 3 or 10 and 2 after it has been trimmed. Palms
under 15 feet will only have limbs removed if they are yellow, brown, dead or
touching a screen or house.
For safety, please give BrightView room to work.
When the palm limbs are cut they freely fall to the
ground. If you have any approved yard décor
including landscape lighting in close proximity to a
palm tree, we recommend you remove them prior
to palm trimming beginning. BrightView will not be
held responsible for damage yard décor items.
Work is expected to be completed by the
end of May

Hurricane season (June 1st - November 30th) will soon be
upon us so now is the time to review your hurricane shutter installation.
As Hurricane Irma started approaching our area, September 2017, homeowners were scrambling to install their panels. When they started some found panels were missing, the incor-
rect size or they didn’t have the proper number of wing nuts. Now is the time to make sure you have all the parts you need
to properly install your shutters.
If you have accordion shutters make sure the tracks are clean, properly lubricated, and that you have keys for all shutters
along with knowing how to close and lock them.
Those of you who are unable to or won’t be here to take care of your shutters, what arrangements have you made for some-
one to do the job for you?
If you are considering having accordion shutters installed or
replacing your windows with impact glass now is the time to
do it.
An ACC application is required and needs to be approved be-
fore any work can be done.
No ACC meeting will be held in May.

COMMITTEE UPDATES
We continue to receive outstanding cooperation from Isles
residents in regards to our ongoing campaign to ensure
that the exteriors of our homes are well maintained and
cleaned. Some homeowners have asked for recommenda-
tions for pressure washing vendors.
While we cannot officially endorse vendors, our monthly
newsletter contains ads from various pressure washing
companies who have helped support the newsletter. In
addition to your roofs, please examine any dividing walls as
well as driveways and walks.
Some houses will invariably need to replace address num-
bers. Unfortunately, we have been unable to locate any
local vendors who stock individual numbers. However, you
can obtain them from Lighting New York-
Lightingnewyork.com, phone # 866-344-3875.
When you log onto their website, in the search bar, type in
SEA GULL ADDRESS. This will take you to where you can
order individual numbers. You will need to replace all 4 or
5 of your numbers along with the side spacers, as the new
tiles will be the original white.
If you have already received a letter to clean your roof or
driveway, or replace address number, please continue to
do so, if you haven’t done so already.
There is still work to be done, but thanks to you, The Isles
is looking great!
No Rules & Regs meeting will be held in May.

RULES & REGS CORNER
GROUNDS CORNER
Hoping everyone at the Isles has been well and not infected
with the novel virus sweeping the globe. It has been heartening to witness everyone carefully observing the “new normal
rules”.
We are happy to report that you will soon start seeing a few
landscape improvements around the clubhouse and parking lots. These will include removal and replacement of the dying shrubs in front of the pool equipment, removal of several dead
Indian Hawthorn shrubs in various areas with replacement of a few in key locations, and removal of some dead or struggling
Crape Myrtles near the equipment garage. We hope that these will be the start of ongoing improvements as budgeting
allows.
As the restrictions lift, we may be able to resume monthly meetings, so please look for notifications and feel free to
attend should you have any comments, questions or concerns. And we encourage everyone to register for the Brightview
portal to allow for more efficient submittal of landscape and
irrigation work orders.
Jeanne Feldstein - Chairperson
Thank goodness for the few rainy days we have received
lately, every little bit helps. May tends to be our worst
month for the Spring drought. With weekly Evaporation /
Transpiration rates averaging around .98 of an inch while
we receive maybe .5 of an inch of rain fall per week, it
really puts us in a deficit.
In the month of May, we will be doing a Lady Bug release
on the property. Releasing predators on the property is a
beneficial operation, as long term it will reduce the
amount of insecticides used on landscape plantings. This
procedure of pest control will take a few years to realize
the full benefits of this form of biological control. With
plant material transitioning into summer growth patterns,
the growth rates tend to be exceptional but we are com-
mitted to stay on our regular maintenance cycles to keep
the property looking good so everyone can enjoy the
great outdoors, while being aware of personal distancing.
We will continue to monitor and adjust irrigation system
to deal with the drought conditions as best as possible.
Irrigation will not replace rainfall, it is a supplement to
rainfall.
Mowing will be on a weekly service and will include all the
usual suspects, mowing, blowing, weed eating, with soft
and hard edging.
The detail crews will remain hard at work to keep your
shrubs beautiful for the season.
Our Irrigation system is continually monitored and ad-
justed for the changing seasons and plant requirements.
Repairs and modification are taken care of as needed.
BrightView is continuing to be vigilant in this time of the
COVID-19 pandemic. Procuring updated PPE and disin-
fecting supplies has been a challenge, but supplies have
been rolling in. We continue to modify our operations
regularly as information and guidelines are updated. So far
our employees and their families at our branch have not
been effected by this pandemic and we are working hard
to try and keep it this way. I hope everyone stays well,
think – be smart and keep up the personal distancing.
BrightView appreciates your loyalty and commits to creat-
ing a beautiful place to live.

COMMITTEE UPDATES
Hello sports fans. Well this has certainly been a challenging
time for sports enthusiasts at The Isles. The COVID-19
virus has disrupted all areas of life, including the athletic
pursuits of our residents. Fear not though, our facilities
are slowly reopening, and we can get back to being the
superb athletes that we all know, or at least think we are.
There is an upcoming project at the tennis courts. The
fences on each end of the courts have seen better days
after years of use. As a result, we will be replacing the
fences at the north (Benevento) and south (lake) ends on
all four courts. The work is scheduled to begin the week
of May 4th, and should take approximately a little over a
week. The courts will be closed for the duration of the
work. Don’t worry, you’ll be out there serving and swing-
ing before you know it.
We have developed a set of guidelines for everyone to
follow to ensure safe play. You can find it on page # 3.
Copies will also be posted at the tennis and pickleball/
basketball courts.
The Sports Committee wants to thank everyone for your
patience as we all work through these tough times.
No Sports meeting will be held in the month of May.
