The JobRedi JOURNAL Editor: Becky (Cortopassi) Carlson | 11292 N. Alpine Road, Stockton, CA 95212 | jobredifoundation.org Grantees gained a wealth of knowledge at the JobRedi “Grow with Google” Workshop last Saturday. Grantees explored a virtual tour of the Googleplex with an insider’s look into a day in the life of a New Google Intern also known as a “Noogle.” World-renowned speaker, David Mitroff, Ph.D., a Google Developer’s Launchpad Accelerator Mentor, inspired and motivated Grantees to take action through Google technology to create brand awareness, maintaining a good online presence and a strategy to put your best foot forward. Stockton native, Joshua Cogo, a Google AppEvent Certified Administrator and Evidation Health System Administrator, taught Grantees about the multitude of applications, tools and features within Google’s G Suite for improved performance, collaboration and productivity. The JobRedi Workshop Closed the Digital Gap with a Q & A session through a virtual Google Hangouts Meet “My first paying job was working in the farm fields of Texas and California picking cotton, tomatoes, cantaloupes and a variety of other crops. Cotton was paid by the pound, tomatoes by the bucket, and cantaloupes by the sack. It was very obvious that the harder I worked, the more I earned. I learned the value of hard work and developed good work ethics. I carried this work ethic into subsequent hourly jobs and my college years, which allowed me to have a successful career as an engineering manager.” Roberto Ruiz, Division Superintendent, Materials Engineering Division Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Page 1 2018-2019 JobRedi Life Skills Workshops: December 8, 2018 January 12, 2019 February 2, 2019 March 2, 2019 April 6, 2019 May 18, 2019 Week of November 12, 2018 A Publication of the JobRedi Foundation © JobRedi Foundation 2018 TOOLS TO ENHANCE YOUR LIFE AND CAREER! He arrives each day on time (generally early!) and works very diligently all day. The work he has been doing has been primarily filing and scanning documents, but he is very thorough and makes sure he gets things done correctly.
