Commandants Notes:The new fiscal year started off with the Department Annual Convention. Carry-OnDetachment had several members in attendance, more than a lot of other Detachments, whichsay a lot of our membership. Well Done.

We have several Eagle Scout Good Citizenship Awards pending, and lets not forget ourGood Business Awards as well. Its really impressive when several of our members show upfor the presentation. The business owners and employees are impressed by our presence innumbers, and it is obvious to me that they are truly honored with our recognition of theirPatriotism. Its not just that Veterans are doing this award, but Marines! We are the onlyorganization in the area doing anything like this, and you should all be proud of what this isdoing for our business community.

Let me end this with a reminder to promote our fundraiser and sell those raffle tickets!September will be here before you know it, so lets get those raffle tickets sold and preparefor the Harvest Festival drawing. Semper Fi!Timothy Daniel
