Historical John D. Spreckels Building

625 Broadway was developed in 1926 by philanthropist and developer John D. Spreckels. It later became known as the Torbati Building after it was purchased by Emanuel Torbati. The 14-story historical building was the first high-rise built in Downtown and stood the tallest for years. From creation it has been utilized as an office building but will now be converted to a residential tower with 231 units.

625 Broadway Residences will be a Class A apartment tower with 231 residential units. Currently being redeveloped, this 250,000 square foot mixed-use building was previously used as an office building for various banks and tenants. The project is highlighted by it’s historical facade, high ceilings, beautiful ocean/bay views and it’s unparalleled location in Downtown San Diego.
