• The LIAS will accept hardware, software, or direct funds donations
– Investments will be used to execute the mission of the lab
– Partners will receive full recognition from RIT (newsletters,
permanent plaque in the lab, web page) and a tax deduction

• Short Courses are available in algorithm development and
data system integration, and will be customized for a specific need
• Scholars Program
– Industry/Government sends high potential employees
» Student receives MS or Ph.D. in Imaging Science
» Represents a two or three year commitment
» Student may choose a research project aligned with the
employer’s needs
» Model successfully employed with the U.S. Air Force for over
25 years

Research ProgramResearch Program
• The LIAS will conduct R&D in algorithm and systems development in partnership with sponsors for their application requirements. General LIAS architecture R&D is sharable with all sponsors.
– Pre-Buy: Sponsor pre-buys a minimum number of research hours per year
» Enables the LIAS to maintain a core staff
» Pre-buy sponsors will be priority customers
– Directed Project: Sponsor requests support on single project or problem
» Work will be performed as resources allow
– Proposal Teaming: RIT will participate in joint proposals that are strategic to the LIAS
