Bernard H. Gaddis (Philadelphia PA) founded The Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater (LVCDT) in 2007, where he continues to be the Artistic Director and driving force. Mr. Gaddis’ dance studies began in Philadelphia at the High School for the Performing Arts; where he received numerous awards and scholarships including

a full scholarship to the prestigious Governor’s School for the performing Arts. Mr. Gaddis has also received scholarships to Pennsylvania Ballet, Dance Theater of Harlem, Princeton Ballet and The Alvin AIley American Dance Theater. Bernard’s first professional dance experience was with the Philadelphia dance company “Philadanco” at the age of fifteen, making him one of the youngest males to ever join the company. Mr. Gaddis was also the Founder, Artistic Director and Choreographer of Philadanco’s second performing company D2. Bernard has received numerous awards over the years. During his tenure as Artistic Director and Choreographer of D2, he was awarded the prestigious “Men Making a Difference” Award from the city of Philadelphia, presented to him by Senator Chakka Fattah. He has also received the “Living

the Dream” Award for community leadership and his efforts in helping to bring the arts to Las Vegas.

A principal dancer with The Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Bernard danced works such as Revelations, Memoria, Episodes, A Hymn for Alvin Ailey and many other ballets; under the artistic directorship of the renowned Judith Jamison Bernard joined the L.A. cast of The Broadway Musical “The Lion King”, as a lead dancer and chorus singer, where he worked closely with acclaimed director Julie Tamour. While in L.A., Mr. Gaddis was the Event Coordinator and Artistic Director for Cienega Entertainment Group. Currently, Mr. Gaddis is a Principal Dancer and Dance Capatain for Cirque Du Soleil’s Las Vegas based show “Mystere” and was a former headlining act in “Zumanity”.

Bernard has successfully produced, directed and choreographed the performances “Dance for Life 1 and II”; raising money for women’s breast cancer charities and children living with HIV and AIDS. Bernard has performed with many companies as a Guest Artist, including Oakland Ballet, Ballet Pacifica,, Koresh Dance Company, Pennsylvania Ballet, Lula Washington Dance Theatre, Philadanco and the Paris based company Zingaro.

Mr. Gaddis is a Master Teacher in Horton, Ballet; and has lectured at Universities and Colleges throughout the United States.

Marie-Joe Tabet (Associate Director/Founding Company Member /Principal Dancer) graduated from UNLV with a B.F.A. in dance performance. She has performed at the International Dance Festival in Kiel, Germany; UNLV collaboration with Korea National Sport University in Seoul, Korea; University of Arizona Jazz Festival in

Tuscon, AZ; Fringe Festival in Adelaide, Australia; and UNLV’s company concerts. She has trained with master teachers from Hubbard Street, Giordano’s Dance Centers, and Alvin Aliey American Dance Theater. Marie-Joe has also performed with Nevada Dance Project, Cleo Parker Robinson’s International Dance Festival, and Steps on Broadway. Along with teaching jazz classes at local high schools, Marie-Joe has taught master classes at the 2007 and 2008 Maga Domene Dance Convention in Monterrey, Mexico. Nevada Ballet Academy. She would like to express her gratitude to Bernard for giving her this amazing opportunity, as well as her family for their love and support!

Eddie Otero (Assistant Associate Director/ Founding Company Member/Principal Dancer) began at Ballet Folklorico de Puerto Rico. He received scholarships to Harkness Ballet and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Mr. Otero has performed with the Ailey Company at the Metropolitan Opera House in “Memoria”

and their City Center season later that year. Mr. Otero danced with the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble in Denver, CO, Detroit City Dance Company, Danny Sloan Dance Company and with the Rod Rodgers Dance Company. Mr. Otero has also performed in West Side Story, A Chorus Line, Annie Get Your Gun, On Your Toes, Song and Dance, Starlight Express, Pirates of Penzance, Gypsy, Dreamgirls, Chicago the musical;

Cats in Hamburg and the Japan Tour of Fosse. He has choreographed and played the role of the MC in Cabaret, A Chorus Line, and Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. Mr. Otero was a former teacher at the Nevada Ballet School. Mr. Otero is honored to be a part of this amazing Dance Company. Thank you for their beauty, grace and Divine Blessings.

Nichole Reyes (REHEARSAL DIRECTOR) (Chicago, IL) Nichole began her dance training as a competitive gymnast at the age of 3. Her passion for dance grew upon her moving to Las Vegas performing with Bunker Dance Center and Summerlin Dance Academy under Tara Foy. She graduated with a B.F.A. in dance from UNLV in 2012,

where she received the Devos Fine Arts Scholarship. Her studies included performances at the Fringe Festival in Adelaide, Australia. Nichole was awarded scholarships to training at Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago and Inside Chicago Dance. Nichole joined The Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater in 2012 She feels honored to be a part of this amazing company and looks forward to her future with the support of Bernard Gaddis and her loving family.

Maria Fernanda Vicuna McGovern (Xalapa, Veracruz Mexico) Maria started her studies in art and theatrics at age of 3. At age of 7, she started her in dance studies with Emmanuelle Lecomte. She received a scholarship for “The Rock School for Dance Education” in Philadelphia, where she studied for 4 years. Maria had the opportunity

to work with several choreographers. Maria has also received training internationally in Cuba, Spain, and France. She has participated in Mexican and U.S. dance competitions, where she achieved an artistic award, medal, and scholarship to the “Jeune Ballet du Quebec.” She always felt as though there was more to dance than just competitions. Maria is extremely excited to be working with the great artists of LVCDT.

Adrianna Rosales (Phoenix, Arizona) Adrianna started dancing at the age of 3. Adrianna graduated with a BFA in dance from the UNLV Her recent credits include being in works by Louis Kavouras, Victoria Baltimore-Dale, Stephan Reynolds, and Cathy Allen. Recently she has traveled to Canada to perform in the International Association of Blacks in Dance conference

as well as to Adelaide, Australia for the Fringe festival. Adrianna is excited for all of her future endeavors that will be opened through her passion for dance with Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater.

Avree Walker (Las Vegas NV) Avree is a graduate of the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts where he currently works as an adjunct instructor. Avree is the Performance Coordinator for the City of Las Vegas West Las Vegas Arts Center, while pursuing a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He has had the opportunity to travel with

the UNLV Dance Department throughout the US as well as Canada, Korea, and Germany. Most recently, Avree joined the cast of Donn Arden’s Jubilee! at Ballys Las Vegas. This is his third season with the Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater.

Dempsey Ward (Kansas City Mo) Dempsey began her dance training at Legacy School of the Arts before graduating with a B.F.A. in Dance from The University of Missouri-Kansas City where she worked with respected choreographers, including Bernard Gaddis, Jamal Story, Gary Abbott, Sabrina Madison-Cannon, Paula Weber, DeeAnna Hiett, Ronald Tice

and Rodni Williams. Dempsey performed at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. with the cast of DeeAnna

Hiett’s “Without A Word” for the American College Dance Festival Nationals. Kansas City Ballet’s “The Nutcracker”. Dempsey was offered scholarships at Joffrey Ballet School, The Ailey School, Deeply Rooted, Ballet Austin and The Jillana School. Dempsey’s is very grateful to have the opportunity to work with such amazing artists. Dempsey would like to thank Bernard Gaddis for this opportunity and her family, friends and instructors who always believed in and encouraged her to pursue her dreams.

Justin Daniel (Dayton, OH) Justin began his dance training his third year at Stivers High School for the Performing Arts. While in school, he also trained with Dayton Contemporary Dance Second Company before attending The Juilliard School in New York City, NY where he received his BFA in Dance.  He has danced with several companies and

performed at various venues around the US including: Luna Negra Dance Company in Chicago, Sonya Tayeh Dance in Los Angeles, California Ballet, San Diego Opera, Ballet North Chicago, LaDiego Dance Theater and Cape Town Dance in South Africa. He also has given master classes in contemporary ballet and modern at numerous studios around the country and was the ballet instructor for Off Broadway Z Company in Ohio.  Justin has been a judge for several dance competitions and is a technical liaison/graphic designer for In10se Productions. He has recently returned from overseas dancing in the highly acclaimed WOW Show in Eilat, Israel. 

Matthew Palfenier (Fortaleza, Brazil) Matthew grew up in the United States. His passion for the arts led him to study: violin, choral music, theater, drawing, painting, and photography. However, his dance training did not begin until 2008, after having moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan area. In 2010, Matthew moved to Jackson, Mississippi to pursue his BFA in

(Modern) Dance at Belhaven University. There he studied ballet under Caleb Mitchell (Houston Ballet) and Ravenna

Tucker (Royal Ballet), and modern with Emily Wright and Erin Rockwell (Front Porch Dance Company). In 2013 Matthew was awarded Belhaven University’s Bezalel Award: For Outstanding Artistic Achievement. In 2014, Matthew was privileged to travel with the dance company Bal Malhada on a five week dance tour across South Korea. The trip included 32 performances in 11 different cities. Matthew is ecstatic to join LVCDT for their upcoming season and would like to extend his thanks to Bernard Gaddis for his overwhelming generosity, the many family and friends who have supported him throughout this adventure, and to the Lord Jesus Christ for his infinite creativity.

Mary La Croix-Lohr (Marine City,  Michigan) Mary spent the past six years dancing with the  Nevada Ballet Theatre under the direction of James Canfield.  Prior to NBT, Mary danced with the Nashville Ballet and Ballet Austin II. Mary has had the privilege  to dance  the title  roles  of Juliet, Aurora, Giselle, Waltz Girl in  Balanchine’s  Serenade  and

the Principal in his Rubies, as well as a Little Swan in Cynthia Gregory’s Swan Lake. James Canfield created an original pas de deux on her titled Still, and she was  featured in his  Degas Impressions,  Jungle, and many others. She has performed works by numerous choreographers including  George Balanchine, James Canfield, Paul Vasterling, Stephen Mills, Thaddeus Davis, Gina Patterson, Matthew Neenan, Luca Vegetti, Cayetano Soto, Ann Marie DeAngelo, and Thang Dao.  Mary is very excited to be entering her first season with Bernard Gaddis and the compelling artists of the Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater. She is married to fellow LVCDT dancer Barrington Lohr.

Reva Rice is an international sensation in the world of theatre, music, film, and television! Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Reva graduated from the Boston Conservatory of Music. Her Broadway and international starring credits include “Starlight Express,” “Fosse,” and “Chicago.”

She has starred in the first National Tours of “Starlight Express,” “Smokey Joe’s Café,” “Fosse,” “Chicago,” and Oprah Winfrey’s “The Color Purple” starring Fantasia. Reva has worked with such greats as Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Patrick Swayze, Chaka Khan, Dolly Parton, Melissa Manchester, and many more. She also performs and produces cabaret acts around the world. Reva recently released her new album “What Is Love” which can be ordered by e-mailing [email protected]. She is also developing “Reva Las Vegas,” a 90 minute revue based on her journey back and forth from Broadway Babe to Vegas Vixen and her dance show band The Jewelry Box. Currently, Reva is starring in Vegas the Show at the Saxe Theater inside the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Casino & Resort (3663 Las Vegas Blvd. S. Suite 465). “VEGAS!

Clint Holmes is a rare performer who can legitimately be called one of the greatest contemporary entertainers of our time. While the concert stage remains the mainstay of Holmes’ career, he moves effortlessly between the worlds of music, television and theatre. Whether headlining New York’s elegant Café Carlyle, Las Vegas’ greatest showrooms or performing

with some of America’s most prestigious orchestras, Clint redefines the standard for vocalists. Every performance is an unforgettable experience as he performs selections from the Great American Songbook, standards from Sinatra’s legendary repertoire, contemporary classics or stirring original music. Holmes’ career soared after the release of his hit song “Playground in My Mind” in 1973, reaching 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Currently, Clint can be found in the recording studio working on a diverse range of projects including his upcoming album. He co-wrote the original show, “Comfortable Shoes” which premiered at the Papermill Playhouse and just completed writing “Just Another Man”. In 2012 he premiered “This Thing Called Love – The Music of Cole Porter and Paul Simon”, co-written with his award-winning musical director and arranger, Jeffrey Neiman at Café Carlyle to rave reviews and the prestigious Bistro Award for outstanding new cabaret show in New York. He is currently the Artist-in-Residence at Cabaret Jazz at the Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas.

Barrington Lohr (Las Vegas NV) Barrington graduated from  the Las Vegas Academy of Performing Arts and then attended  SUNY Purchase College. He then joined the Nevada Ballet Theatre where he danced for 6 years.  Barrington  has performed  the  leading roles of Von Rothbart in Cynthia Gregory’s Swan Lake, Benvolio

in James Canfield’s Romeo and Juliet, the Snow Prince and the Peacock in James Canfield’s The Nutcracker and the pas de deux from Canfield’s Degas Impressions. Barrington has also danced in George Balanchine’s Rubies and Serenade, James Canfield’s  Cyclical Night  andJungle, Matthew Neenan’s  At the Border,  Gail Gilbert›s  Song of the Nightingale, and Thaddeus Davis›s An Incandescent Start. He has guested annually  for the Nevada Ballet Theatre Academy, performing the principal roles in  La Bayadere, Flower Festival, The Sleeping Beauty, La Fille Mal Gardee, and Coppelia. Barrington is very excited to begin his first season working with Bernard Gaddis, the artists of LVCDT, as well as with his wife, Mary LaCroix-Lohr.

Kristal Daniels (Aurora, CO) Kristal’s passion for dance began at the age of the 3, which led her to begin dancing competitively around the age of 9. She attended the Denver School of the Arts and received outside training at Cleo Parker Robinson Dance as well as Artistic Fusion Dance Academy.  She then continued her education in Philadelphia

where she received a B.F.A in dance performance at The University of the Arts. Kristal was also a part of Philadanco! II Company and Just Sole, a house dance company configured by former Rennie Harris company members. This is Kristal’s first season with the company and she would like to thank Bernard Gaddis for this amazing opportunity as well as her family and friends for all their support and love.

Jermaine Turnbow (Detroit, MI) Jermaine began his journey into the performing arts his third year at Lewis Cass Technical High School. While in school he trained mostly in Musical Theater before attending The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA where he received his BFA in Dance. Jermaine has worked with respected choreographers

including; Kim Bears-Bailey, Douglas Becker, Sidra Bell, Gary Jeter, Ronen Koresh, Molly Misgalla and Iquail Shaheed. Upon graduation, he was awarded scholarships to further his training at The Joffrey Ballet School where he worked with instructors such as Arturo Fernandez, Liz  Imperio, Desmond Richardson and Josie Walsh. Jermaine is thrilled to be joining The Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater and looks forward to working with the company! He also gives thanks to everyone who has helped him to make it this far in life; the journey has only just begun.

Ashley Gezana (Austin, TX) Ashley studied with the American Dance Theater, Tinka’s Dance Studio, Slavin Nadel School of Ballet, and Round Rock Repertory Dance Centre (RRRDC) in which she was part of the performing troupe ‘dancers.’ Ashley attended Dean College as a dance major where she was a part of their Dance Team and three faculty

directed companies. Upon transferring to the University of Houston she received her BA in Dance Performance. She has participated in the Texas Association Teachers of Dance (TATD) conventions, Alvin Ailey summer intensive, The Ailey School independent study program, and served as a Broadway Dance Center (BDC) summer intern. After spending two seasons with the Dayton Contemporary Dance Second Company (DCDC2) Ashley is proud to be a member of the Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater.

Haniyyah Tahirah (Los Angeles CA) Haniyyah’s love of dance began at the age of 5 where she attended Blackwell Dance Academy. She attended the Los Angeles Academy of Fine Arts under the direction of Ms. Belinda Johnson, where she performed in the production of the “Chocolate Nutcracker” narrated by Debbie Allen. At 16 she was an apprentice in

the Lula Washington Dance Theatre where she made her debut at the 2006 Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl accompanied by jazz legend McCoy Tyner. She became a full company member in 2008. In 2009, she was a part in the creation of the film ‘AVATAR’ directed by James Cameron, in which she and other dancers’ likeness and movements were studied. Haniyyah is currently pursuing a B.A. in Business Leadership and hopes to one day give back to the dance community through arts administration. This is Haniyyah’s first season with the LVCDT and is very thankful to Mr. Gaddis for giving her this opportunity.

Rachel Murray Company Apprentice (Riverside, California.) Rachel moved to Las Vegas where she attended college at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Graduating in 2013 with a BFA in Dance, Performance and Choreography. While attending UNLV, Rachel received the Millennium Scholarship; Greenblatt

Scholarship; UNLV Dance Scholarship and the Devos Scholarship acknowledging her hard work and devotedness to the College of Fine Arts. Rachel also received a full scholarship when she traveled to Chicago, Illinois summer of 2013 to further her studies, training with the Inaside Chicago Dance Company. Rachel has been fortunate to perform with the UNLV through out Las Vegas, Nevada, Southern California, Chicago, Dallas and Seoul, Korea. Rachel is also known for her abilities to choreograph, music and film edit, costume design and lighting design. Rachel is proud to be given the great opportunity to study, train and perform with LVCDT.

Yui Tadokoro (Nara, Japan) Yui began her training at Hagi Yuko ballet studio. At the age of 9, she moved to  Kansas City, Missouri where she graduated cum laude with  a BFA in Dance (Performance and Choreography) from the University of Missouri- Kansas City’s Conservatory of Music and Dance. She also received the Sullivan

Family Foundation Talent Scholarship. While attending UMKC, she performed in works by choreographers, such as DeeAnna Hiett, Sabrina Madison-Cannon, Gary Abbott, Paula Weber, Jamal Story, Ming Xiao, and Edgar Anido. Yui spent her summers studying at Deeply Rooted and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. In 2014, she performed at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington D.C. for the American College Dance Festival’s National Gala. She also had the honor of performing  “Memoria” with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at the Kauffman Center. Yui feels extremely blessed to be able to train under the direction of Bernard Gaddis and would like to thank him for this wonderful opportunity. She would also like to give thanks to her friends and family for all the support, and she is excited to start her new journey in LVCDT along with her new talented and inspiring dance family.

Alex Cancel (Glen Burnie, Maryland) Alex moved to Las Vegas where he is currently attending the University of Nevada Las Vegas pursuing a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography. Alex hopes to get as much work and experience as he can in Las Vegas and begin his career as a professional dancer. While attending UNLV, His recent

credits include being in works by Louis Kavouras, Victoria Baltimore-Dale, Richard Havey, and Cathy Allen. Recently he has traveled to Ohio to perform in the International Association of Blacks in Dance, has traveled to Athens, Greece to perform a duet for the International Dance Competition Hellas, as well as Seoul,Korea to train/perform with the Korea National Sports University. LAS VEGAS CONTEMPORARY DANCE THEATER

Alex’s first season with the Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater. He looks forward to traveling and performing this fall, and is excited for all of his future endeavors that will be opened through his passion for dance.

Matthew Howard (Las Vegas, NV) Matthew graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and has a BA in Theatrical Design and Technology in the field of Lighting Design. He has work experience by working with companies such as Nevada Conservatory Theatre, Super Summer Theatre, Endless Productions, as well as Cirque Du Soleil. Matthew has a strong

passion for lighting and is excited to continue on with his passion by designing for The Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theater.

Sandra Fong (Manoa Hawaii) is excited to be working with the Las Vegas Contemporary Dance Theatre. She is thrilled to return to her first love - dance. Locally, she has worked with Nevada Conservatory Theatre, Dance in The Desert, the Performing Arts Society of Nevada, and the Rainbow Company. Additional credits include work with American

Dance Festival, Shapiro and Smith, Deeply Rooted Dance Theatre, and Bear in The Big Blue House Live! Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, Ms. Fong holds a Bachelor of Arts in dance from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Master of Fine Arts in lighting design from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
