40 under 40Airline Economics celebrates the top 40 individuals under 40 years of age in the commercial aviation industry.

Since the founders of Airline Economics, Victoria and Philip Tozer-Pennington, are both aged under 40 years of age, and with some

prompting from the industry, the magazine has launched an inaugural

annual initiative to celebrate the younger members of the commercial aviation industry.

Airline Economics asked its subscribers and the readers of Aviation News Online to nominate colleagues and peers aged under 40 whom they believed

were deserving of special recognition for their talent, hard work and potential to be a future market leader. We were inundated with responses and were overwhelmed with the response to the initiative with many eager to highlight outstanding individuals.

Javier Meireles Senior VP and CFO, Apollo Aviation Group

Javier Meireles joined Apollo Aviation Group in 2010 and served as Vice President of Finance and Accounting before being promoted to CFO in 2013. Meireles has been an integral part of raising three private equity funds with commitments in excess $1.5 billion, two asset backed securitizations totaling more than $1 billion, various other financing facilities totaling over $750 million and launching an SEC registered hedge fund.
