Announced by What Car?, the results show that we continue to lead the field, a position we have held from the first year we were eligible for consideration. Furthermore, the IS executive saloon achieved the highest overall score – the third time the model has achieved this. The RX luxury SUV was ranked third overall, having claimed the highest overall score in 2010.

The CT takes L-finesse design to an exciting new level. And, as always, this is design with purpose, reflecting and enhancing the compelling balance of refined, responsive performance and exceptional efficiency offered by full hybrid technology from Lexus.

The CT combines hand-crafted materials with clever ergonomics. The dashboard is designed for effortless use. It has two zones: an upper Display Zone and a lower Operation Zone, giving intuitive access to features such as the shift lever. The cabin can also be equipped with Lexus Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Navigation – with optional Remote Touch system – the Mark Levinson® Premium Surround system and Electronic Climate Control.

The CT brings the intelligence of Lexus Hybrid Drive to the premium compact class for the first time. The technology has been developed to emphasise dynamic driving pleasure, yet refinement and fuel economy still reach unprecedented heights. The stop-start function, which turns off the engine when the car is at rest, helps achieve class-leading CO2

Featuring a finely tuned 1.8-litre VVT-i Atkinson-cycle engine working seamlessly with a powerful electric motor, the CT responds instantly to throttle input through a smooth, electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission. Electric Vehicle (EV) mode allows you to drive in near silence up to about 25mph for 1.5 miles on the electric motor alone, emitting zero CO2, NOx or particulates*.

The new addition to the range, the F SPORT offers even more focused dynamics and athletic poise. To the front, F SPORT signature aerodynamic styling integrates upper and lower honeycomb grilles. Leading the series is the ultra-high-performance IS F. Developed and tested on the Fuji Speedway in Japan, the 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine can propel the IS F from zero to 62mph in just 4.8 seconds.

In 2005, Lexus introduced the world’s first luxury hybrid sports utility vehicle. Powered by the revolutionary Lexus Hybrid Drive system, combining a petrol engine with two electric motors, it offered greatly reduced emissions, improved fuel efficiency and an entirely new experience of smooth high power. It was a breakthrough that instantly met the needs of progressively minded individuals around the world.

Four years later, the next-generation full hybrid RX 450h was launched. Built at the award-winning Lexus ‘Eco Factory’ at Kyushu in Japan, the RX 450h features second-generation Lexus Hybrid Drive technology. By combining a 3.5-litre V6 Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with two high-output electric motors and an advanced compact battery, the RX 450h delivers the power and acceleration you would expect from a much larger engine and the emissions of a compact four-cylinder car. Maximum combined output is 299 DIN hp (220kW)

while combined CO2 emissions are just 145g per kilometre. This remarkable CO2 figure means the RX 450h has a Benefit-In-Kind tax rate of only 20% (2012/13).

The Lexus RX 450h is a full hybrid. That means it has the flexibility to run at the precise optimum for all driving conditions. It will, for instance, operate on electric-only or petrol-only power when it makes practical sense to do so. The new RX 450h ADVANCE has all the outstanding power and crossover performance characteristics of the Full Hybrid RX 450h, delivering the handling and comfort of a luxury saloon but with the flexibility of a large crossover.

With its generous proportions, the RX 450h assumes an elegant yet reassuringly broad stance. And yet, even at rest, it exudes an unmistakable aura of dynamism. The front grille is set low, creating a purposeful look, while the headlights rise and sweep dramatically into the side profile. THREE-YEAR COMPREHENSIVE WARRANTYAny defect that is attributable to a manufacturing or assembly defect under normal use is covered by your warranty. This provision applies for a period of three years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first, with no mileage limit for the first year. In the event of a breakdown immobilising your Lexus, the cost of recovering it to the nearest Lexus Centre is also covered if that breakdown is the result of a warrantable defect.

12-YEAR CORROSION PERFORMANCE WARRANTYA 12-year unlimited mileage warranty covers the vehicle against rust perforation through any sheet metal body panel (subject to certain exclusions specified in the warranty booklet) occurring as a result of a manufacturing or assembly defect in the vehicle.
