WELCOME TOTHE LAIR
Good afternoon and welcome to Lingfield Football Club fortoday’s Southern Counties East League match withpromotion chasing Ashford United.
I wonder why we can't bring our Vase form into the leagueor is it that the league is full of very good sides? I think it isthe latter. We have now played 2 Combined CountiesLeague sides doing quite well in their league and gavethem what can only be described as a footballing lesson.
Saturday was again fantastic, we started from minute one,got at them nice and early which we always set out to doand should have been 3 up in the first 20 minutes but theirkeeper made a few very good saves.
We dominated the game, we were mentally and physicallystronger and had more of a will to win than them, somegreat Performances and great goals and it was great to seeHarry (who I thought was magnificent) back in a Lingfieldshirt once more.
Due to injuries we had top shuffle the pack a bit and Seancame in for his first start after being patient on the benchand showed a great attitude and played well, Frithy movedup the pitch to left mid with Marco who has been ourutility man all season and done a great job moving him tohis more accustomed left back slot.
We scored some great goals and we shared the goals whichis nice for the team, an away tie against Colliers Woodawait us and 5 games from Wembley, we must dream andwe must believe in our dreams, we can make the impossi-ble happen.
Today sees the visit of Ashford to the Lair, a very wellsupported team with a great tradition at this level andabove in non league so we expect another tough leaguefixture.

Saturday was another good result forthe boys to get us into the next roundof the FA Vase! I still think 1st halfSaturday we was not playing our bestfootball but still come in leading athalf time, which is always a bonus!
When we come out at second half wejust looked a lot more comfortable onthe ball and played some much nicerfootball. After the third goal went in itallowed us to then relax even more
and play our own game which is whenwe a dangerous! But overall a goodteam performance and a well de-served win.
Another good result boys, ColliersWood away in the next round. I cansee Wembley from here!!
Alfie

MATCH ACTION
5-1
Following a great cupperformance against Epsom& Ewell and a disappointinggame against PhoenixSports we looked to keepour cup run going againstChessington & Hook United.
Straight out of the gate we looked astrong attacking threat, creating plentyof chances and controlling the game.Chessington were spending most oftheir time in their own half but an earlycounter lead to them striking the postwith their first chance. However it wasthe home side that eventually openedthe scoring when Simon Wallacetapped in a Harry Sintim rebound fromclose range. Sintim continued causingchaos down the right hand side and itwasn’t long until we had our second ofthe evening, as a Dan Frith cross/shottrickled in at the near post.
Half time came and went and we main-tained our dominance of the game, al-though another Chessington counterstruck the post, reminding us our oppo-nents were still a threat. A rough chal-lenge meant Abraham Udofia had tocome off with a nasty looking injury, re-placed by Tony Langridge.
Chessington confirmed themselves as athreat when they countered once moreand scored, clawing their way back intocontention. They grew more confident, forcing a headed clearance off the line, but we soon got back into our stridewhen Harry Sintim cut in and won us apenalty. Alfie Dean stepped up but hisshot was saved, fortunately Simon Wal-lace was on hand to poke home his sec-ond and Lingfield’s third.
The goal lifted the team and it tookmere minutes for the ball to arrive at

the feet of substitute Tony Langridge, who hit the ball from the right handside across the goal into the top leftcorner. Whether or not he intended itto be a shot is a mystery, but the reac-tion from around the ground was em-phatic. Again it didn’t take long for thenext goal, with Sintim once more run-ning riot down the right in the build-up.The ball fell to Matthew Warren, whoscored from range to provide our fifthof the game.
The rest of the game was goalless, butwe created plenty of chances and theboys looked like they were having funout there. The ball was almost perma-nently in Chessington’s half and Harry
Sintim was having a field day entertain-ing the fans with his skills. When the fi-nal whistle blew everyone had a big grinon their face and stuck around to givethe team the praise they deserved foranother great performance on the roadto Wembley.
