I want to thank LuAnn Maratik (pictured at left along with “Tony the Tiger” as these two characters visited the clinic and handed out treats) for providing my Monarch costume this year! After she offered to do so I had agreed to wear anything she came up with. On the one hand, I feel fortunate (she could have come up with something a lot more crazy). On the other hand... I don’t ever recall seeing a Monarch butterfly in a tutu!!! Mary Beth had commented, “Only you can get away with wearing that!” I’m still not quite sure how to interpret that!?! 38 th Survivor-Athlete Qualifies for the 2019 Survive, Thrive & Be Fit Team! Consider these ST&BF Opportunities:

Gentle Yoga for Cancer Survivors: This group typically meets 3 weeknights and one Saturday morning per month. No experience necessary and all props provided!

Indoor Row Group: We just kicked off our 2019/20 Indoor Row Group Season which runs from November 1st through April 30th! IRG sessions are scheduled on various days and times throughout the month. If you are interested and would like to give rowing a try, contact Tim to set up an IRG Intro/Demo at any time throughout the season.

Pickleball Play: We have one evening indoor Pickleball Play session scheduled each month from November through May, typically on the first Wednesday of the month and held at Farnsworth Middle School. Pickleball enthusiast Bruce Becker will offer basic instructions for beginners and tips for experienced players.

Steps to Survivorship: We still have tow “Steps to Survivorship” group walk/jog/run sessions before the end of the year: November 21st and December 3rd on the Shoreline 400 Trail. And, when the snow falls, be sure to watch for:

Survivors on Snowshoes: These are often last-minute and impromptu sessions scheduled as conditions allow! A limited supply of snowshoes are available. Watch for details!

Active Survivors of Sheboygan: You can earn a spot on the ST&BF simply by recording your daily exercise activities in the ST&BF Activity Log and submitting it! Work out 30-minutes a day or more 8 to 15 days per month to earn 1 point, 16 to 19 days to earn 2 points and 20 or more days to earn 3 points each month! Contact Tim for details and to obtain a ST&BF Exercise Logbook.

Congratulations to these 38 “Survivor-Athletes” and current 2019 ST&BF Team Members (as of 10/31/19):

October: Linda Ansay September: Deb Borucki August: Cindy Daane, Stacy Harriott July: No new members June: Stacey Hand, Sharon Pentek, Althea Smith May: Carolyn Eiden April: Rose Buteyn, Chris Meyer, Judy Rowe, John Seaman March: Ron Boeldt, Lisa Glander, Mary Rohde, Beth Stockdale, Dennis Sundell, Rae-Ellen Weber February: Barb Bogenschuts, Lenny Bogenschutz, Kathy Burch, Judy Clark, Leah Heusterberg, Mary

Kempf, Dan Kunda, Candy Meyer, Diane Micoliczyk, Janet Sampson January: Cindy Becker, Mike Brachmann, Bob Hartig, Jennifer King, Maryellen Kloiber, Beverly Leonard, Chris Lorge, Kirstin Opgenorth, Tim Renzelmann, Sue Zalewski.

Year-to-Date Comparison (2019 compared to 2018):

Participating Survivor-Athletes 72 81 +9

ST&BF Team Members (5+ pts) 42 38 -4

ST&BF Team Activity Points 1380 1554 +174

As you can see from the above table, we are ahead of last year with regard to total participating ST&BF Survivor-Athletes as well as total ST&BF Team Activity Points... but we are a little behind in those who have earned a spot on the team (by earning five points or more)! With ample opportunity to earn five points or more before the end of 2019... consider making a year-end commitment to ST&BF for a healthier Holiday Season! If you need a bit more incentive... continue reading!!!

It’s Not Too Late To “Earn A Spot” on the ST&BF Team To Be Awarded Eligibility For An Exclusive “Team Members Only” Survivor Experience!

About two months, about ten weeks, and about thirty opportunities yet this year to earn ST&BF points! Fall 2019 TLC Tournament of Games

General Guidelines:

• Eligible players (survivors and co-survivors) must attend a TLC or SCCCF event between 9/17/19 & 12/16/19!

• Almost every game has variations in play and rules. Participants can determine/decide the rules they choose to follow (preferably before play starts).

• Every player may play every other player each game up to two times. Additional play is encouraged... but will not count towards the tournament.

• Complete one “Game Summary” following each game played and submit to Tim. Points will be tallied accordingly.

• The “Declared Winner” (as determined by the players) will receive two tournament points and the non-winner will receive one point (for participation)! Points will be tallied for individual game and overall/combined games.

• Players with the highest points in each individual game as of 12/1/19 will qualify for that game at the Championship Game Night on 12/10/19 and our overall Tournament of Games Champion (based on total points) will be determined based on point as of midnight on 12/16/19 and announced at the TLC Annual Gathering on 12/17/19!
