Performance NotesThe Lord Is My Light (Ps 27) can be used as a Responsorial Psalm during Ordinary time, for funerals, during Communion, as well as for the Rites of Initiation (Baptism,Confirmation, Eucharist) especially during the period of the Catechumenate.
The Lord Is My Light may be sung unaccompanied in unison or harmony. The keyboardpart may be played as written or improvised by using the chords as a guide.
The solo instrument parts work best played separately until the last verse, when they maybe combined. For a more ‘Celtic’ sound the melody may be doubled an octave higher onviolin or flute. The string quartet and harp parts used on the recording of the Celtic Massare available in manuscript form.
