Welcome to Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church

We are glad to have you worship with us today. If something you encounter while you are here moves you to want to know more, there are always leaders up front near the platform at the end of the service to talk to you, pray with you, and help you in any way they can. Pastor Welden will also be greeting at the front door. Let us know if this is your first visit, and if you would like more information about SAPC.

All Those in Attendance Today are asked to complete the tear-off

card on the back of this worship guide. The cards may be placed in the offering basket or handed to an usher after the service.

Available for Your Children Our ushers are available to assist you with any of the following:

• Nursing Room: A room is available on the first floor (#104) for nursing mothers.

• Nursery: A fully-staffed nursery for children younger than K4 is available on the first floor.

• Children’s Worship: Children in K4 & K5 will be invited to children’s worship at an appropriate point in the service (indicated in the order of worship). They will use the exit to the front right of the sanctuary.

• Children’s Bulletins: Age-appropriate children’s bulletins are available.

For Your Comfort: Elevators are located outside the double doors on both sides of the front of the sanctuary. To help all participate fully in the service, amplification devices are available by request from an usher. Restrooms may be found at the back of the sanctuary or out the double doors at the front right of the sanctuary.

Digital Devices If you have brought a digital device into today’s service, please take a moment to make sure you have turned it off, or to vibrate, so that we may all worship without interruption.

Sermons: If you’d like to listen to the sermon again or listen to one you’ve missed, you may sign up for our podcast, listen online (sapc.net) or request a CD by contacting Jomona Williamson in the Worship & Arts Ministry office ([email protected], 803-888-1716).

Prayer Updates, Announcements, and our Senior Pastor’s Weekly Newsletter are sent out during the week by email. If you are not receiving these updates and would like to, please supply your email address on the response card on the back page and indicate “Engage” (the name of the communication).

This Week’s Mission Focus: Across the World

Taiwan: Christ College Joe & Ann Lyle

The Lyles have served Mission to the World (MTW) in Taiwan since 1991. Their ministry with students at Christ’s College involves teaching, evangelizing, and mentoring. Christ’s College is the only Christian liberal arts college recognized by the Taiwan Ministry of Education. Over the years, graduates from the college have spread the gospel not only in Taiwan, but throughout the world. have spread the gospel not only in Taiwan, but throughout Asia and the world.

Messages from Their March Newsletter: In the fall, Tim & Debbie, came to see if Christ College might be a place for them to minister. After many years of ministry in China, they cannot return. They arrived [in Taiwan] and are quickly getting settled. Debbie is teaching two of our lower-level English classes. On the first day, most of her students were late. She told them that she would have none of that. The second class they were all on time. Tim is teaching Western Civilization which is typically a tough course for our students.

Please Pray For: We have been hearing about more missionaries being forced to leave China. Pray that God continues the work He has begun there and opens new doors of service for these missionaries. Pray for the impact of the gospel in China. We were able to host another missionary that may need to leave China. This time it would be her age. Teachers under 60 are preferred. She was looking for places to minister here in Taiwan. Pray that God will lead her and guide her. Thank you so much for supporting us and the work at Christ’s College through your prayers and gifts.

** INVOCATION and PRAYER OF ADORATION Rev. Hunt

Renewal

** CONFESSION OF SIN

From a 1661 prayer of Richard Baxter, The Savoy Liturgy O most great, most just and

gracious God; You are of purer eyes than to behold iniquity; but You have promised mercy through Jesus Christ to all who repent and believe in Him.

Therefore, we confess that we are sinful by nature and that we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God.

We have neglected and abused Your holy worship and Your holy Name. We have dealt unjustly and uncharitably with our neighbors. We have not sought first Your kingdom and righteousness. We have not been content with our daily bread.

You have revealed Your wonderful love to us in Christ and offered us pardon and salvation in Him; but we have turned away.

We have run into temptation; and the sin that we should have hated, we have committed.

Have mercy upon us, most merciful Father! We confess You alone are our hope.

Make us Your children and give us the Spirit of Your Son, our only Savior. Amen.

** WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.

CHORAL CONFESSION Be Still and Know arr. Fettke

Be still and know that He is God. Be still and know that He is holy. Be still O restless soul of mine; Bow before the Prince of Peace. Let noise and clamor cease. Be still and know that He is God. Be still and know that He is faithful. Consider all that He has done; Stand in awe and be amazed And know that He will never change. Be still. Be still and know that He is God. Be still and know that He is God. Be still and know that He is God. Be still and be speechless. Be still and know that He is God. Be still and know He is our Father. Come rest your head upon His breast, Listen to the rhythm of His unfailing love; Beating for His little ones, Calling each of us to come. Be still.

PRAYERS FOR

THOSE NOT TAKING THE LORD’S SUPPER

St. Andrews Presbyterian Church welcomes all baptized

Christians who are willing to forsake their sin and trust in

Jesus for salvation, and who are members of congregations

that proclaim the gospel, to receive the Holy Communion

with us. If you are not able to receive Communion, please

use this time to meditate on one of the following prayers:

Prayer for Those Searching for Truth Lord Jesus,

You claim to be the way, the truth, and the life.

Grant that I might be undaunted by the cost of

following You as I consider the reasons for doing

so. If what You claim is true, please guide me,

teach me, and open to me the reality of who You

are. Give me an understanding of You that is

coherent, convincing, and that leads to the life

You promise. Amen.

Prayer of Belief Lord Jesus Christ, I admit that I

am weaker and more sinful than I ever dared

admit, but through You I am more loved and

accepted than I ever dared hope. I thank You for

paying my debt on the cross, taking what I

deserve in order to offer me complete

forgiveness. Knowing that You have been raised

from the dead, I turn from my sins and receive

You as my Savior and Lord. Amen.
