Hello all, hopefully I have been able to save this attachment so that everyone can open it. I will
also put it as the body of the email but, I know that the pictures get shifted around when I do
that. (Please try to open the attachment. Right click on the little box in the subject line and choose open.) Mick had
the idea of writing a regular humor column for us. I love it. Is there anyone else who would like
to give it a go? Any topic is welcome. How about computer or other tips, thought for the day,
recipes, birthday list, travel tips or how to choose a bottle of wine etc.
From From From From IrelandIrelandIrelandIreland:
Dolores was kind enough to kick us off:
“John and I are celebrating our 25th
wedding anniversary on Saturday. We
start with a mass and we shall renew
our wedding vows.
It is a special occasion and we wanted to mark it with mass and the priest suggested a short
renewing of our vows. A friend and her daughter are singing hymns so it will be more personal.
Also the priest is a friend of ours......... so it should be fun. We then all come back to the house
and have, food, drink and music.
Also Pat Magee will be celebrating his 65th birthday on 9th July; he is having a meal out with his
family. I think that is all the news from Annacloy. Doe”

pictures from last edition) She is due in January 2009 and has had cravings since the moment
she found out. On June22nd she writes:
” So, here is our second scan taken on Friday. Baby is now the size of an apple. It is healthy and growing as it should be. And it is now officially 12 weeks and 2 days, so I can start telling the world! The gynie tried to look what sex it is but the stubborn baby had its legs crossed and wouldn’t wake up when shook…. So it’s a………………………BABY! ☺ I think that only a lady would have her legs crossed – but we will have to wait and see ☺ And no – it is not a Pinocchio look-a-like…. That is a hand….”
Oh, Baby Apple is so beautiful!
The Cape Town Magees are complaining about their cold weather. It is winter there. They have
to bundle up, turn on the fire place and wear flannel jammies. Here are the temperatures for

What can I say about Mick Magee? To know him is to love him. He is quite famous in America
for his film work. Most recently, he was featured in a commercial showing an old pirate ship that
had men rowing in the bottom of the ship. He was a wretched slave, rowing, with other poor
souls and a couple of M&M candies. It was a classic: “Don’t rock the boat, Don’t rock the boat,
baby”.
He is so
Handsome here
<-
He also is featured in a Travelocity commercial that I have not seen yet in the U.S. as well as
others. However, what brilliant acting, you would never know this was him!
He is a loving husband to Roisin:
And preparing for his upcoming role as Oupa:
Mick has yet to embrace the internet but is an awesome text messenger on his cell phone.
So, I have copied his letter. You remember letters don’t you?

USAUSAUSAUSA: : : : Peter Lawley shares: Greetings from sunny Naples!
Here's hoping all Magees are doing well. Now that summer is here in southwest Florida the
weather is getting humid but there is often an afternoon shower to cool things down. These
conditions last for just a few months- the weather is gorgeous during the winter so I hope as
many of you as possible can make it here for the Magee family reunion in February of next year.
At a personal level I finished chemotherapy at the end of May and will begin another course of
chemo in early July. I felt the interim was a good time for a treat, so Will and I took a
Mediterranean cruise from May 23 - June 8. The Azamara Quest provided comfortable, luxurious
surroundings as it sailed from Italy to Malta, Tunisia, Spain and France. Some pictures are
attached- enjoy and keep in touch!
Best,
Peter
From Charlie: Greetings Magee Nation,
I'd like to start out by thanking each and every one of you for all the
very kind words, positive thoughts, prayers and good vibes I have received
from you all, mostly by Email, but sometimes when I'm lying in bed at night, I
imagine I can actually feel the energy being transmitted.
On Monday June 16, we heard some very positive news regarding my cancer
treatments and the CT scan results.
I truly believe that the combination of the wonderful work of the medical
teams at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in Buffalo NY, and your willingness
to get involved in this cure, or better yet, the healing process has
helped me immeasurably, and for that I will always be thankful.

I ain't out of the woods yet...I still have a good distance to go, at least another
six weeks of chemotherapy left, but I feel like I have gained the upper hand on
this affliction. Imagine those dastardly colon cancer cells hiding in my body
and then having the nerve to sneak out, right at my 5 year cancer
survivor benchmark! Then thinking they could just head somewhere else in my
body? I don't think so...
I've really been blessed having an angel for a wife and loving, caring support
from Patti, Anna and Marty. All my students have hung in there with
me, as have my band mates, and life has been carrying on almost normally
for the past two and half months. I have condensed activities so that I do
an awful amount of music making for a week, then I have my chemotherapy
which sidelines me for a week…and so on. When I finally do get off this
routine, I'm not sure how I am going to structure things, just don't give
Diane any ideas about those off weeks, she’ll have me painting every room
in the house again.
Other than that, the really exciting fun moments that happen are all the
preparations for the arrival of our little granddaughter, Ariyana Rose
Magee...oops, I mean O'Neill, literally any day now. I'm sure glad I'm
here for it.
Love to all, Charlie

job delivering this little wonder in record time and without any fuss. She weighed in at 8# 3oz
and is 21&1/4 inches long.
Marty made a short video on Youtube. You can go to:

Roisin says that the baby is named after her because
Roisin means Rose in Irish. I think that means that she
pays for the college education. That’s gonna be a lot
of Rand!

England: Danny reports...
Nothing much to report here. We have had a visit from Helen’s In-laws from New Zealand and
are showing them the local highlights. They have gone to Europe at the moment and return next
week. We have just spent a week on the Greek Island of Crete, which was very relaxing and Hot.
We don’t do heat here………we don’t have much experience. It was 30 plus on Crete so we
stayed in the shade mainly. We thought it was early season and that it would be less sweltering
but they are “having a heat wave” as the song goes.
No more major plans for the year at present. We had a lovely time at Patrick and Susan’s
wedding, with the family about. We would normally have traveled up to Annacloy
afterwards but we just came home. The liver is not up to it these days!
We will be in touch with Patti soon. We are musing over the re-union at present and recent
events have taken our focus off it, with our visitors etc.
Love
Dan and Heather x

How about sharing some wedding pictures?
Now Patti will update our business regarding the proposed reunion in Florida:
It's getting near the time when plans will need to more forward for the 2009
Naples, Florida Magee family reunion. I've heard from a number of people but many are
conspicuously non responsive.
Positive responses have arrived from:
Cecily 'I'll go anywhere' Hobbs
Patti 'sure to get smashed on day 1' O'Neill Coppola (Lenny too!)
Charlie and Diane (pending Charlie's medical schedule)
Doe and John Mary Smyth
Sister Mary Marie
Anna and Bill Louise: unsure.

I'm assuming Peter and Isabel, unless they are planning to leave town or tape
over their doorbells.
Here are my questions:
****Is it too soon due to weddings and health issues and should we instead plan on all getting
together (God willing) in 2009?
****Is Feb a good time or is March better?
****We will not be able to do small cottages but I see on the Internet very large homes
with, for example, 6 rooms and six baths. Would that work? Isobel has a friend who
may be helpful.
****What are folks What are folks What are folks What are folks thinking?thinking?thinking?thinking?
Please send email suggestions to me at [email protected].
You should know I am taking guitar lessons from Charlie and plan to be ready to sit in for
the Beatle's sing along. We will need a competent page turner to take my place.
Hope to hear from you!
I hope that you have enjoyed this issue and will consider contributing if you haven’t yet. If you
want to send letters, pictures or something that you can’t email, snail mail it to me. I
can scan them into the computer and mail them right back to you.
I also would appreciate a demographic update when things change, especially email
addresses. I am on the lookout for Paula’s if she is back on line. It’s just a quick way to
update every one.
I have had babies on my mind for the last 9 months. I want to leave you with lyrics of Bob
Dylan’s that have always inspired me. (Editors liberty)

Forever Young
May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.
