RELIEVING PRINCIPAL’S REPORT
The term is flying past at a fast rate of knots. I am continuing to enjoy my short stay at Kellyville High School for a peri-
od of time in Term One whilst Ms Barnier is working off site in the Department.
Barrangal Skin: Premiere at Event Cinemas
The Barrangal Skin Movie Premiere was a huge success. There was approximately 500 people in attendance, and the
response from them all was incredibly positive. It was so great to showcase the amazing achievements of our students
under the guidance of Mr Caprarelli, Mrs Ruys and Mr Cheney. The Premiere has caused lots of interest from various
media outlets, which will provide many opportunities for Kellyville High School in the future.
SEC Fundraising for the RSPCA: Krispy Crème Donuts for a Cause
The SEC proudly presented over $1000 in funds they raised for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Ani-
mals (RSPCA) to our SEC coordinator, Ms Oakley this week. This is an honourable way that our students can feel they
can contribute to others by caring for those who cannot care from themselves.

Clean Up Australia Day 2020
Our students also showed great community spirit this week when they participated in the Clean-Up Australia cam-
paign.
Open Night 2020
The Kellyville High School Open Night on Tuesday night was a huge success. With over 200 guests from the communi-
ty in attendance, it was a great opportunity to showcase the facilities, our dedicated staff and most importantly, our
students. The students who volunteered their time to be guides displayed maturity and commitment to our school.
They each spoke so proudly and fluently about the school and their positive learning experiences. The feedback from
the members in the community was that they were very impressed with the speciality rooms; the amazing efforts the
school has put into making the rooms look engaging for students, including the new blinds, and the high calibre of the
student representatives.

Parents and Citizens Association
On Tuesday night, we also had our Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the P&C. I would like to acknowledge the out-
going Committee: Mr David Kempe, who has done an outstanding job as President, Mrs Michelle Kempe as Secretary,
and Mr Steed Leonard as Vice President. The P&C has raised a significant amount of funds over the past twelve months
that has then directly benefited the school. A big ‘thank you’ also to Mr Leuven Naiker for not only doing an outstand-
ing job as Treasurer for the past twelve months, but for agreeing to continue in the role for the next twelve months.
Sadly, there were no nominations for the roles of President, Secretary and Vice President for the upcoming 2020/2021
year. As a result, there will be the need for an extraordinary meeting to hopefully secure people in these roles for
2020/2021. I would like all parents and carers to consider nominating themselves for these important roles. More infor-
mation will be supplied shortly in regard to this from the P&C.
Sendai Hight School Visit
The planned recent visit from Sendai High School in Japan has had to be postponed in light of the Coronavirus (COVID
-19) threat. We hope this visit will be re-scheduled but we are unsure of dates at this point in time.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Jennifer Hawken
Relieving Principal
