Sizeable deal to acquire WhatsApp, which occured in 2014, didn’t put an end to the messenger market competition. Even without taking into account some famous Asian messenger projects with its own regional pecularities, Western markets witnessed a birth of a new competitor - Telegram (launched by Pavel Durov, founder of the largest russian-speaking social network VK). Positioning itself as the most secure messenger, Durov’s Telegram took its place at the top of that very competitive field of communication messengers. Long before its tremendous success, Google wanted to acquire Telegram for $1 billion. At the beginning of 2017, Durov estimated his own project to be worth $3-4 billion. As a result of continuing functionality improvements, Durov can count on further increase in market capitalization.

Asian Messenger Market

Let’s take a look at the Asian market. According to the HSBC report published by Bloomberg, Chinese messenger WeChat is valued at $83.6 billion - slightly lower than the current market capitalization of Tencent (Chinese telecommunication company, largest internet provider). Despite being a rough estimate, it demonstrates that there is still a large potential for growth in the market of messaging applications. WeChat’s MAU (monthly active users) is 600 million.

WeChat is key to Tencent’s model not only as a messenger, but also as a channel for e-commerce, mobile payments, mass communications, mobile gaming and other applications in which Tencent can make money.

Another chinese market representative - is a messenger Weibo. Weibo capitalization is currently higher than that of Twitter, according to Bloomberg reports, and currently sits at $11.3 billion, which is $200 million more than Twitter’s market cap. According to the analytics, Weibo continues to grow steadily in the Chinese developing market.

How about another powerful Asian economy - Japan? Here we have one more interesting example of a messenger market success. After its IPO and listing on a New York stock exchange Japanese messenger Line was valued at $9 billion.

Snap: The New Threat A project that was born as a messenger, but rapidly turned into a new generation social network demonstrates a far more impressive capitalization. Yes, it is Snap. Snap is the reason behind Facebook’s decision to release “Stories” (self-destructing images and videos) on Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp. Snap received an exclusive buy offer from Zuckerberg which was rejected by its founders. Some analysts predict that Snap will eventually become a “Facebook killer” and investors support this idea with project’s high valuations.

After the first look at KPI’s for Facebook and Snap, it appears as if Facebook was a far more successful social network. However, such analysis is flawed as it does not take into account important factors of changing preferences among the younger audience that will be leading the demand for social media and messaging projects in the foreseeable future.

The mechanics of the application is such that the sound of the sticker will automatically play on the receiving user’s phone if it is not silenced.This generates a whole slew of use-cases for this feature of The Memessenger. Project received significant VC interest. *The Memessenger was valued at $500 000 (estimation provided by VC firm - IIDF) March '17: The Memessenger gets investment from IIDF (www.iidf.vc) - largest russian venture fund with accelerator program.

*IIDF invested in project $35 000 on the first round. March '17 - June '17: project acceleration in the IIDF accelerator. Hard-work under user experience, analytics, content, growth hypothesis. July '17: Project passes through the IIDF accelerator. Serious work is under way to improve content, usability and hypothesis-testing for subscriber growth.

Project was born as an creative "spin-off" of some other IT Start-Up.Originally, messenger was named as "Epic Messenger Ditch".Ditch - rus. "Дичь" - slang word, usually used as a description of some person's useless, crazy speech; originally in Russian Internet "Дичь" is a well-known meme.

1. Project rebranding and audio-visual sticker content refresher for the english-speaking audience. This growth driver is currently in the process of realization. “Ditch Epic Messenger” has been rebranded into “The Memessenger” and new widely-recognized memes/stickers with politicians and Hollywood celebrities are on the way. Investment: not needed. In process of implementation.

2. Improvements to back-end, usability and interface of application. Existing version of application is available in the AppStore and PlayMarket. However, it is only a beta-version: a lot of improvements are required.Investment: approx. $500,000

3. Increasing project popularity through mass social media communications. User-base is one of the most clear and crucial project success criteria. According to market experience, The Memessenger audience growth potential is about 10 - 100 million users. Increasing user engagement and keeping activity level high is quintessential for The Memessenger project. However, there is not a more effective method for initial audience recruitment than mass promotion. 5ICO Mechanicsand Scenario

Unfortunately, after a successful ICO a lot of projects nowadays stop demonstrating any development progress. Participants have very little visibility into the processes surrounding these projects or their investments in them.

When registering, user specifies his/her e-mail and password to access their personal account. In order to reduce speculative risks in the early stages, ICO has implemented the mechanics of holding (freezing) tokens. As a result, METhold tokens will be distributed originally, which can be exchanged for the MET tokens at the conclusion of the following ICO round (the process is described in more detail in the Instructions). ICO Stages ICO is divided into 10 rounds. In accordance with the overall philosophy of the ICO project, beginning of each round is indicated by the provision of up-to-date data on current project results including data of traction-indicators.

First ICO round The first round is a Pre-ICO round. Duration of this round will be a maximum of 1 month, or until a cap of 1,000,000 MET tokens is reached. During this round minimum resources required for the start of a full-scale ICO campaign will be collected.

Second ICO Round Second round is the beginning of a large-scale ICO project. Preliminary start date is August 25th, 2017. Duration of this round will be a maximum of 1 month, or until a cap of 900,000 MET tokens is reached. Based on preliminary estimates, the MET token price during this round will be equal to $2.50.

Second round can be considered successful when the capital amount equivalent to $800,000 is raised. Otherwise, the team will take action towards adjusting project’s future development strategy.

Third ICO round Beginning of the third round is scheduled for September 25, 2017. 800,000 MET tokens will be reserved for the distribution during this round.Duration of this round will be a maximum of 1 month, or until a cap of 800,000 MET tokens is reached. Based on preliminary estimates, the MET token price during this round will be equal to $12.00 (which, if the forecast is met, will demonstrate a fivefold increase in the exchange rate and the project valuation).

The success will be the exchange of tokens, equivalent to $ 5,000,000; otherwise, the project team will take action to adjust the development strategy.

Rounds 4-10During these ICO rounds there will be distributed a total of 2,200,000 MET tokens. Exact distribution of tokens at each round will be determined depending on the development of the project before each concurrent ICO round. Forecasts for these rounds will likely be based on the project's track record, growth KPI of metrics, project attractiveness at any given stage and its status.

At the end of the 5th round - half-life of the ICO - we are planning to list MET tokens on an exchange for trading. Speculative token trade will still possible even before the exchange listing. However, there will be a HOLD set on the distributed tokens that will last for a period of 1 round from the moment the token is dispersed. As an example, if an ICO participant acquired a token in the 1st ICO round, he or she will not be able to trade it until the completion of the 2nd ICO round and the full distribution of tokens reserved for that particular round. These limitation provide maximum level of protection against speculative attacks, while also providing conditions for a more accurate project development forecasting.
