The Bible study in the home led by the visiting preacher went on and on. There was a lot of eagerness and excitement to hear what the preacher had to say. The third floor upstairs room where they were meeting was packed, and so, one young man, who needed some fresh air, sat on the window ledge and got com-fortable. Windows in this city on the coast of the Aegean Sea were open to allow the breeze to flow through the house. The excitement of the early evening was now turning into a comfortable rest. The people were still trying to listen to the preacher, but the early evening meal was now getting the best of some of them. The young man sitting on the window ledge had now drifted into sleep. The slow, rhythmic deep breathing was now a low, but definite, snore. Zzzzzzzz. Then he fell. And he died from the fall. The young man's name was Eutychus. The preacher was the Apostle Paul. “Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. 'Don't be alarmed,' he said, 'He's alive!'” (Acts 20:10) When we get to heaven, it will be interesting to meet our heroes of the Bible like Abraham, and Moses and Joseph and Daniel and Deborah and John and Paul. You can almost imagine the conversation with Eutychus: “So, you're in the Bible?” “Yes, sir, I am.” “What did you do?” “Well, I, ah....” We may chuckle at this incident recorded in the book of Acts. Hopefully we are amazed and awed by the power of God. And we take note of the com-mitment of the Apostle Paul to untiringly proclaim and teach about Christ. But I also hope we do not miss something significant about Eutychus. In our world where God is reduced to one of the choices we have on a given day, there are still people like Eutychus, tired as they may be, who choose to sit through a Bible study, worship, or a prayer meeting. At the last men's prayer breakfast, our prayer time was accompanied by a beautiful harmony of two of our men who had fallen asleep. Zzzzzzzzzz. Zzzzzzzzz. One of them had been up for more than thirty hours, worked double shift. The other had been up most of the night. Yet they chose to come and pray. Their bodies were screaming “Go home! Go to bed! Get some rest! You deserve it!” Yet their hearts were saying, “Pray.” And they came and prayed. Zzzzzzzzzz. Zzzzzzzzz. Must have been music in God's ears.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SHARE YOUR BLESSINGS!
Thank you for your generosity in the special offerings to aid those in Iligan City and Ca-gayan de Oro who were devastated by the flooding on Dec. 17th. We were able to wire $7460.00 directly to the church there in Ili-gan City that we are partnering with. The death toll has climbed to nearly 1500 and many are still missing. Thousands have been left homeless. 54,000 people are in evacuation cen-
tres around the affected area, while thou-sands of others are staying with friends and relatives, but all are in need of assis-tance. Government officials estimate 600,000 have been effected by the natural disas-ter.

FROM CASA HOGAR GALILEA AC. IN MONCLOVA, MEXICO: We wish that in this new year you would be blessed and prosperous in all of your undertakings, and that God would give you health, love, and beautiful moments with your family. We hope that within your heart there will always be a desire to give the gift of happiness to those who are in disadvantaged situations, despite the diffi-cult times in which we are living. We would like to thank you deeply for your generosity, and support. This year we have completed 11 years since we first began our work, and we have helped more than 200 children and teenagers who came to this orphanage with some form of need. Because of this we would like to say THANK YOU! You have been here with us all of this time, becoming a part of, and forming, our team. We pray that your hand would never close, and your heart would never be hardened, regardless of the punches life may throw at you. Thank you for your participation with us in the support of these children and this institution.
ANGEL TREE THANK YOU….
