We had 3 gatherings of the church led by Mitch McIntosh talking about the Church Core Values. We took a poll of what the church thought were the 5 Core Values: (1) Bible-centered Preaching & Teaching, (2) Godly Servant Leadership, (3) Warm Fellowship, (4) Authentic Worship and (5) Faithful Service. These Core Values will help us stay grounded as a church and keep our focus on Jesus. Last month, the Governing Board received several proposals from one of our church gatherings and decided to approve one of them as our NEW VISION STATEMENT. “Transforming lives by sharing the love of Jesus” We believe this is a simple statement of what Mt. Holly 1st UMC is doing and will continue to do every day with all our missions and ministries. It is important for all of us to have a vision about where we are going. This statement is easy for everyone to remember and powerful enough to keep us focused on Jesus Christ. Do you remember when Jesus Christ came into your life and transformed it into a life as a disciple of Jesus Christ? The powerful transformation from being lost & blind to being found & seeing. With all that we do inside and outside the church, we need to keep this vision at the forefront. May we all find ways to be a part of this vision statement. God Bless, In Christ, Pastor Mike Carr

Senior Pastor’s Message

When I came to Mt. Holly 1st UMC, I saw the Mission Statement and tried

really hard to memorize it. I have asked at several different meetings, who knew

the church mission statement? I had a few people who could say the entire

statement. We had 3 gatherings of the church led by Mitch McIntosh talking about the

Church Core Values. We took a poll of what the church thought were the 5 Core Values:

(1) Bible-centered Preaching & Teaching, (2) Godly Servant Leadership,

(3) Warm Fellowship, (4) Authentic Worship and (5) Faithful Service. These Core Values will

help us stay grounded as a church and keep our focus on Jesus. Last month, the Governing

Board received several proposals from one of our church gatherings and decided to approve

one of them as our NEW VISION STATEMENT. “Transforming lives by sharing the love of

Jesus” We believe this is a simple statement of what Mt. Holly 1st UMC is doing and will

continue to do every day with all our missions and ministries. It is important for all of us to

have a vision about where we are going. This statement is easy for everyone to remember

and powerful enough to keep us focused on Jesus Christ. Do you remember when Jesus

Christ came into your life and transformed it into a life as a disciple of Jesus Christ? The

powerful transformation from being lost & blind to being found & seeing. With all that we do

inside and outside the church, we need to keep this vision at the forefront. May we all find

ways to be a part of this vision statement. God Bless,

In Christ, Pastor Mike Carr
