in baptism to be disciples of Jesus Christ. Centered in the Eucharist, and strengthened by the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we strive to live
the Gospel and further the reign of God. We do this by creating a vibrant faith
community, by actively promoting justice and evangelization, and by using our gifts in the service of God’s people, to give God
glory and reverence all of Creation.

May they rest in the peace of Christ. We pray for all who have died and all who are mourning the death of a loved one.
From Pentecost to the Eucharist… and back again… Praise God for the amazing feast of Pentecost two weeks ago and the beautiful festival of the Holy Spirit that so many of our parishioners helped make happen! I can’t say thanks enough to all of those who gave so much of their time and talent for the Pentecost Festival:
+ The Hospitality Committee and set-up crew were there most of Saturday and all day Sunday doing the prep, serving, clean-ing up and taking down – wow! + The parishioners who prepared, cooked and served the in-credibly delicious foods from countries represented from all around the world; how wonderful to have our parishioners from so many varied places…revealing the diversity of the Church right here at St. Clare of Assisi! + The artists and artisans who displayed their works at our first ever Makers’ Fair! + Our amazing choir…who lifted us in praise at Mass and then sang hymns at the festival for the Spirit and in honor of our two newly ordained Transitional Deacons. FROM THAT…today we celebrate the great feast of Corpus Christi, the Body and Blood of Christ, a very special and most unique celebration for us as Catholics, as we are the only Chris-tians who hold fast to the doctrine of the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. It is an opportunity to reflect on how unique our faith is…and let our children know this important distinc-tion. It is also a great opportunity for each of us to read and learn more about this special doctrine of ours. After 10:30 Mass this Sunday you are invited to participate in our annual Eucharistic Procession through the town to our old church (now the school chapel) on Third Street in O’Fallon. If you cannot do the 1 mile walk, please join us at the Chapel for benediction. It is a great tradition to have this procession in which we ‘take out into the world’ the Eucharistic Presence of Jesus, asking the Lord to bless our town and country with God’s Mercy and Peace. God’s Peace to you, Fr. Jim Deiters
Please pray for the sick, their loved ones and caregivers, may they never lose sight of the love of God: Claudene Chunn, Dianne Clark, Joan Cook, Ed Cornwell, Peter Dernbach, Theresa Gilreath, Almie Gundlach, Andy Harris,

Ken Sternberg, John Tiemann, Belinda Vargas, Diane Vernier, Gib Vollmer, Carl Walker, Patricia Weiler Please call the parish office if you have a family member that is homebound or in the hospital
and would like their name included in the bulletin. Please pray for our military families, especially those deployed and separated from loved ones.

The Young Adult Initiative is Gearing Up After a year of listening and learning, our Young Adult Initiative (YAI) Core Team is hitting the ground running through the generous $10,000/year grant we received from St. Meinrad.
Babysitting reimbursements—if our onsite babysitting for events doesn’t fit your needs, schedule a babysitter for home and let Matt Flynn ([email protected]) know before the event that you will need a reimbursement. Reimbursements are generally good for up to 3 hours at $10/hour. We will continue to offer onsite babysitting for many events as well. We are also conducting listening sessions in our local community with young adults who do not attend Church. Our initial goal is to simply hear their stories and learn how we can walk with them in their lives. Lastly, the Core Team is working on creating op-portunities for our parishioners to better understand young adults and for young adults to feel like they belong.

VOCATION CORNER
Today we celebrate the gift of Eucharist. This gift is what truly defines us as Catholics. We rejoice that Jesus gave His Body and Blood for our redemption. This is the remembrance we commemorate during each Liturgy. This is only possible through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass which is celebrated by a priest. We are challenged to pray for more priests; we are challenged to encourage those who may have a calling to Holy Orders. Pose the question: “Have you ever considered being a priest?”
♦ 5:30 pm Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Rosary and other prayers for Priests
