I met several of you on my first trip into town earlier in the week, and look forward to meeting the rest of the team on my return in October. While on property I spent some quality time with a large portion of my golf staff and was im- pressed with their work ethic and dedication to Desert Mountain. They have a great understanding of the expectations of our membership, and are committed to fulfilling those expectations. I have made the following changes to our golf staff that have put in place the leadership and experience that is necessary for us to deliver the "World Class" Golf Experience that our membership wants and deserves. Scott Frisch - His experience with the membership and knowledge of DM are instrumental to being the HP at Renegade and all that comes with the having both the Clubhouse & Learning Center Facility. Eldon Epperly - Will assume the Head Professional position at Outlaw. His experience with the member- ship of DM is vital in helping to continue to drive play to the Outlaw facility. Nathan Carl - Will stay at the helm at Apache and continue to enhance the membership's experience at DM. Dan Sewalk - Will assume the Head Professional position at Cochise/Geronimo and continue in his ef- forts to elevate the golf experience of our members. Tom Van Haaren - I have promoted Tom to the Head Professional position at Chiricahua. Tom's experi- ence in the industry will only help to raise the bar for our overall member service environment! I have the utmost confidence in these gentlemen to be leaders in the industry and continue to be a driv- ing force in what separates Desert Mountain from everyone else. In closing, remember we all do the "Big" things well, but its how we do the "Little" things that separates us from everyone else! Keep it in the short grass! - Mike Scully If you missed our 401K Class and One-on-One Meetings, Principal is available to assist you at 1-800-547-7754 or visit www.principal.com Thanks to all of the Managers who interviewed our 109 applicants! When I came to Desert Mountain it was a flurry of excitement around here. It was late in the season and very busy with Member-Guest right around the corner. Everyone was tired but still running full speed. Regardless of her work load, Kathy Wyckoff,

Director of Member Services took a lot of time with me, walking through things, answering questions, showing me the clubhouses, explaining policies, etc. I have found Kathy to have a palpable passion for this Mountain and the people who work and live here. She always has a smile on her face and never misses an opportunity to greet someone.

I am very impressed with everyone that works here, but Kathy absolutely stands out. She has Integrity, is very much a team player, tries to find solutions instead of focusing on problems and is always willing to assist. When I was given Member-Guest in the 11th hour, Kathy brain-stormed with me, helped put bags together, made the invitations and on and on and on. I cannot fill out enough Thank You Cards to properly show her what a tremendous help and a glowing example of "the DM Way" she has been. She's has great energy, is Fun and Innovative and has a positive attitude to strive for. I would like to nominate Kathy for the honor because I believe she truly deserves it, has earned it, emulates all the core values and of course the love, buzz and glow. - Suzanne Hawk, Director of Catering

Josh and Katie did a great job accommodating one of our members this afternoon. Mrs. Spackman requested a table on the outside patio,

but preferred to sit a good distance away from the restaurant, near the golf shop. We had no prearranged seating in the area, but Josh got them drinks and proceeded to move around furniture to set

up a table for them. Katie helped by taking care of the dining room, attending Josh's other tables and expedit-

ing Mrs. Spackman's meal. The party enjoyed their lunch and the special attention that they received. This is a prime

example of "spirit to serve" and exceeding member expectations. - Nate McLaughlin, OLW Asst Restaurant Mgr
