allowed you to have access to connect with your friends and family online.
• Now with the new developments with technology not only are you able to have access to connect with your friends and family online, but you can also connect with businesses, churches, celebrities, your favorites, and etc.
• There are almost 200 social networking sites
• The percentage of people using social media is 73%
Facebook• Facebook is considered a social sharing
site.• Facebook allows you to post your
activities, upload pictures and videos, share, play games, instant message, also live message (video message)
• There are 1 billion active users of Facebook.
• They share 2.5 billion pieces of information everyday.
• Facebook has become the new marketing strategy for branding businesses, political campaigns, promotions, and etc. because it creates the largest opportunities to communicate with consumers in a non-obtrusive way.
Twitter • Twitter is considered the micro
blogging social site.• This site allows you to post but your
post are limited to 140 characters, follow people who you are interested in, link pages and share them on your feeds, and trending topics are popular on this site.
• This is also another fast growing networking site because it has the largest penetration in the U.S.
• 5,700 tweets happen every second • 560 million active users.
Instagram• Instagram is a social sharing
site all around for pictures, picture direct message, and 15 second videos.
• Many brands are being active with Instagram due to the latest trend of # hashtag for trending topics that draws the attention of the consumer.
• Also posting pictures that consumers can relate to.
• They have 150 million active users.
Pinterest • Pinterest is considered the social
networking site of discovery.• This site allows you collect ideas for
your different projects and interest. • Largest opportunities for consumers
to pin your business as their favorite. • 70 Million active users. • People create and share collections
(called “boards”) of visual bookmarks (called “Pins”) that they use to do things like plan trips and projects, organize events or save articles and recipes.
LinkedIn• LinkedIn is considered a business
oriented networking site.• It allows you to keep in contact with
your colleagues, look for new employees, link your resume to your profile so you can connect to potential employers and contact people who you have association with.
• Brands that are participating are using this as an opportunity to allow their associates a place to network and connect.
• It has 240 active users.
Youtube/ Live Stream• YouTube allows billions of
people to discover, watch and share originally-created videos.
• YouTube provides a forum for people to connect, inform, and inspire others across the globe and acts as a distribution platform for original content creators and advertisers large and small.
• Allows users to view and broadcast video content using a camera and a computer through the internet
• Livestream has taken a different angle when it comes to live streaming, they offer its users hardware and software streaming solutions that feature ad free broadcasting.
