The New Life Leadership ExperienceFrequently Asked QuestionsWhat is the selection process like?
Each potential NLLE Intern is interviewed by multiple people on our staff to determine who would be a good fit and how each intern would add value to the NLLE internship program. Once invited to accept the position, the potential intern must sign a contract of commitment to officially accept the position.
Who is the average applicant?Our applicants are typically students that are currently working on obtaining a college degree and are looking for further ministry experience before they begin their careers.
Who will supervise me?
You will be supervised by our Executive Pastor, with the assistance of the team of Pastors at New Life, as well as Intern Team Leaders.
When can interns start?
The summer internship starts Monday, May 21, 2012 and ends Sunday, August 5, 2012 (a ten week internship). (Under special circumstances, internships can start earlier and end sooner. NOTE: You are encouraged to arrive on Saturday, May 19 to check into your summer housing, as well as participate in our Owner’s Class on May 20. Also note: Interns are allowed to take the week of July 8-14 off if they so choose.)
Will I be paid as an intern?
Each NLLE intern can receive up to $1,500 for the successful completion of this internship (weekly compensation will be in the amount of $100 with the chance to receive a $500 bonus at the end of the internship with a favorable evaluation for the summer).
Are there other perks for this internship?
Each NLLE intern will receive free housing in one of the homes of our New Life Owners (a value of $750), as well as free boarding (a value of $750 towards your meals for the ten weeks). Each intern will also receive leadership development books/resources, personal mentoring from one of our pastors, and the opportunity to receive a scholarship for future Leadership Conferences.

We feel extremely confident that your time investment with the NLLE program will open many doors for you for your next steps, and maybe potential opportunities with New Life.What will I be doing as a NLLE Intern day-in and day-out?
Each day (Monday-Friday), you will begin your time with the NLLE Team seeking the Father in a time of worship, prayer, and collective devotion. From these filling times, you will move into service in the specific areas of responsibilities you are given (you will have direct oversight from one of our ministry leaders in these service responsibilities). Such service responsibilities may include organizing activities and teams, leading worship or small groups, teaching groups and discipling individuals, creatively sharing Christ with others, leading random acts of kindness within our community, doing ongoing tasks as part of the weekly responsibilities of New Life, and anything and everything else that is needed to MAKE HIM MORE FAMOUS here, there and everywhere!
Will there be an orientation for my NLLE team?
Yes, we'll do an orientation on the morning of the first workday (May 21). Our Executive Pastor and Life Development Team will give you everything you need to know. You will also be able to ask any questions at this orientation!
What am I responsible for paying during this summer?
You are responsible for paying for travel to New Life, some meals (those not provided for within your homes or at New Life), and any leisure activities you choose to do throughout the summer months. (NOTE: We are only 70 miles from our Nation’s Capital, so you will probably want to make a visit or two there.)
When will I know if I have been accepted to this program?
After the interview process, reference check, and background check are completed, you will receive an official email of acceptance or decline. For those accepted, you will need to sign and email back a contract of commitment.
Anything special that I should bring?
A teachable spirit, a willingness to learn, a desire to serve any and all, AND an attitude that believes, “God is going to grow and stretch me BIG TIME!”

The New Life Leadership ExperienceFrequently Asked QuestionsLots of casual, COMFORTABLE clothing and shoes. Everything an intern will be doing will be very casual dress so no need to bring a lot of dress clothes or shoes.
