THE NEW VIVARO
33
The new Vivaro. The van which does more.
With the new Vivaro, Opel will raise the benchmark of the van-D segment. The new Vivaro provides a perfect solution whatever the requirement and is available in any of the following versions:
• Panel Van (in Small (S), Medium (M), Large (L)) • Crew Van with and without foldable bulkhead (in Medium (M) and Large (L)) • Platform Cab (in Medium (M)) • Combi (in Small (S), Medium (M) and Large (L))
Design The Vivaro’s design is more than just an appearance. The ability to choose from a rugged partly grained look to a passenger car-like full body-coloured look or a sleek black highlighted look lets customers configure their Vivaro according to their needs. True to Opel design, the Vivaro features the signature ‘Wing’ in the headlamps and the Blitz that is prominently displayed. The interior design combines clean intuitive elegance with class-leading ergonomics, thus further confirming Opel’s identity as an approachable, German manufacturer that excites.
Innovations Even workhorses can benefit from modern technology, and with the Vivaro, the benchmark has been significantly raised. Opel’s legacy of providing innovative technologies for everyone doesn’t stop at commercial vehicles. The Vivaro can be fitted with all of the driving assistant systems that are normally found on passenger vehicles. To top it off, the Vivaro premiers the luxury of ‘hands-free’ sliding doors into the subsegment.
Versatility With different model variants to suit the needs of customers, the level of versatility of the new Vivaro is unique within the section. A class-leading level of interior space that is created by the wide availability of long wheel-based versions including 3-row people carriers, in cohesion with clever systems such as FlexCargo®, and the numerous amount of smart storage spaces all help to make the Vivaro a leader in terms of versatility.
Driving experience The segment-lowest fuel consumption and CO2 emissions that the Vivaro boasts are certainly going to make it a popular choice. This, along with its broad range of engines, AT-8 availability, full-fledged all-terrain abilities (IntelliGrip, Worksite Pack and a very competent 4x4 conversion by Dangel) courtesy of Dangel conversions and IntelliGrip grip control, will help make the Vivaro a leader in the mid-sized commercial van subsegment. What is more as of 2020, the new Vivaro is coming with its own full-electric variant.
Infotainment Whatever the needs, be it an integrated navigation system, a large colour touch screen, compatibility with Apple CarPlay™ or Android Auto™, the Vivaro’s comprehensive infotainment range features three different systems, letting customers choose according to their infotainment needs.

Segment overview
The commercial van-D subsegment is evolving rapidly and this can be seen with all of the segment leaders having released an updated model within the space of the last 4 years. With the constant introduction of features that are more commonly associated with passenger vehicles. In fact, passenger vehicle comforts such as air conditioning, cruise control and heated seating are becoming more widely an expectation.
This change in expectations can certainly be seen with such new entries as the new Peugeot Expert, Citroën Spacetourer and the 2018 Ford Transit that are all steering the van-D subsegment into a high-tech-conscious direction where comfort, design and safety share the same level of importance as its utilitarian heritage.

With plenty of open storage spaces that are easy to reach, a selection of high-quality trims, optional vinyl trims and leather steering wheel with the optional 7˝ colour touch screen that sits at the very heart of the cockpit, all give those travelling inside of the Vivaro Panel Van the feeling of a robust and yet ergonomic van. All this with the great seating position which gives drivers that increased level of vision.
Panel Van exterior design
The new Vivaro Panel Van with its chrome ‘Wing‘ in the headlamps and prominent grill, that proudly presents the Opel Blitz, embodies Opel’s design philosophy of ‘Sculptured Artistry meets German Precision’. Whether an elegant appearance or a rough and robust exterior is required, the Vivaro Panel Van comes standard with grained cladding, however can be opted with a full-body-painted exterior, with body-coloured front, rear and side bumpers, wing mirror covers and door handles.

Electric sliding doors
A truly unique selling point, the hands-free electric doors not only make a premium impression but also make getting in the Vivaro easier when hands are full. The sliding doors can be opened remotely in the following ways: • Hands-free via kicking motion underneath
the rear corner on the corresponding vehicle side
• Button on the key• Button on the dashboard• In the door handles from the inside and

Benefits:• Remotely openable• Hands-free accessibility• Unique selling point in the segment
Central door lock for all doors

If the vehicle detects that an accident or crash has occurred, the central door lock automatically deactivates to prevent those inside from being trapped.
Cargo partitioning
The Opel Vivaro is available with different partitioning solutions that separate the cockpit from the cargo area, and meet ISO 27956 standard: non-removable installation with bolts: • Solid partition wall for optimum safety
when carrying a heavy or oversized load• Solid partition wall with window and grill
option that helps to keep an eye on the cargo space
• FlexCargo® with load-through functionality for transporting
• Comfort bulkhead that decreases excessive noise and loss of heat for a more refined feeling of comfort The comfort bulkhead also features the following advantages: – Thermal insulation– Sound insulation– Light textile covering on the cockpit side,
joining seamlessly with roof panel trim (by contrast to the black steel panel visible on standard partition wall)
– Polycarbonate window, with no protective grille since it is tougher than glass, and 1 coat hanger hook on the load space side
– Greater adjustment range for the driver’s seat, thanks to its more domed shape

The protective floors are available in the following variants: • Natural wooden floor • Untreated with intreated 6-mm wooden
flanks and wheel arches• Treated with anti-slip coating with aluminium

Technical data
Minimum vehicle weight according to type approval. Additional equipment can increase the kerb weight, permissible axle load and the maximum payload whilst lowering the vehicle load capacity as well as the towing capacity. The gross vehicle weight and towing capacity cannot be greater than the maximum load capacity. 1 During trailer towing do not exceed a maximum speed of 80 km/h, in case of special regulations 100 km/h. The speed limits are also recommended in countries with higher permitted speed for trailer-vehicle combinations. Pay attention to the local speed limits. For trailers with low driving stability and caravan trailers the use of an oscillation damper is strongly recommended.

Folding the seat to free up more rear cargo space is achieved in the following way: 1. Unlock the bench by pulling strap located on the outer side of the cushion. 2. With the strap still in hand, use the handle located on the outer side of the backrest to tilt the bench to the front. 3. Make sure that the folded bench is locked in place, and let go of the strap.

Speed Limit Information
The camera detects speed limit signs and provides the driver with this information on the instrument panel and via the head-up display. If the cruise control/speed limiter is activated, the driver can save the speed detected by pressing the MEM button on the cruise control/speed limiter. In areas with no signs detected, the navigation system provides information on the recommended speed, but in this case the driver must set the cruising/limit speed himself/herself.
Intelligent Speed Adaptation
Intelligent Speed Adaptation works together with both the Speed Limit Information and the cruise control/speed limiter to adapt the recognized speed limit.
Benefits: • Speed limits are made unmissable and
prompt the driver to adapt immediately to avoid speed fines
Driver Attention Alert (DAA) Level 3 (as part of Driver Assistance Pack)
Provides driver attentiveness alerts. The system monitors driver behaviour via the camera and steering wheel movements. An audible and visual alert warns the driver if loss of attention is detected.

Driver Safety Pack
Forward Collision Alert (FCA)
Alerts the driver to react to a situation of risk of imminent collision. A visual and audible warning is emitted. This action comes just before the AEB is triggered. It has 2 triggering thresholds:
– Criticality level 1 (orange)– Criticality level 2 (red)
Automatic Cruise Control (ACC)
Enables the driver to let the vehicle adapt to the speed of the vehicle ahead. This cruise control system is able to reduce its speed to 20 km/h, acting only on the accelerator pedal or engine brake (no active braking). This system is particularly suitable for heavy but moving traffic.
Automatic Emergency Braking and Automatic City Emergency Braking (AEB)
Reduces bodily damage to vehicle passengers and other passengers in the following cases:• 0–30 km/h: prevents collision with mobile or fixed obstacles as well as pedestrians• Above 30 km/h: speed reduction before impact• Deceleration up to 1G. System automatically associated with the AEB.

This execution of the Rear View Camera sends the image to the interior rear-view mirror whenever the reverse gear is engaged. The Rear View Camera works together with the radar sensors, offering drivers an audible warning as well as a visual warning.
33
Assistance systems
Parking and blind spot aids
Side Blind Zone Alert (SBZA)
For vehicles equipped with a radio or Multi-media, the front and rear bumper sensors indicate the proximity to obstacles measured by the sensors. The driver receives differen-tiated front and rear audible alerts as well as a view on the radio screen. In addition, the driver is informed of the presence of a vehicle driving in an adjacent lane which is in the right- or left-hand side blind spot.
180° Rear View Camera
For vehicles equipped with a Multimedia, i.e. equipped with the 7˝ touch screen, the rear camera sends a top-view 180° reconstituted image of the rear area. When the vehicle approaches an obstacle, the system automatically zooms in on the rear area to display the remaining distance more accurately.
Benefits: • Makes parking easier• Offers greater awareness of environment around the vehicle• Makes drivers aware of possible collisions when reversing
Operation 180° rear view: 1. The driver activates the 180° Rear View Camera via the infotainment screen. 2. Divides the screen into 3 zones, offering a clear view of vehicles approaching from the side. Perfect for safely reversing out of parking spaces.
Note: the 180° Rear View Camera does not issue any types of warning.
Arguments• Make driving easier and safer on the
whole• Make drivers fully aware of their
surroundings • Assistance during difficult conditions
or situations• Warn drivers in multiple ways • Parking made easier• Help drivers avoid fines • Greater reassurance on longer journeys • Help avoid collisions with pedestrians

IntelliGrip
The IntelliGrip system optimally adapts the front-wheel drive to the road types and conditions. Optimal grip is regulated by the amount of traction allocated to the drive train. IntelliGrip is always combined with 17˝ wheels and winter tyres.
Benefits: • IntelliGrip raises the level of grip and
therefore safety on all types of road surfaces
Operation: 1. The driver selects the mode according to the given situation. 2. There are 5 available driving modes that can be chosen via the modus selection dial:
– ESP Off: ESP® can be switched off when driving below 50 km/h.
– ESP Standard: normal ESP® mode– Snow Mode: the system optimizes the
best possible grip and traction to advance when driving below 50 km/h.
– All-terrain Mode: distributes maximum wheel spin to the wheels with the least amount of contact in order to clean them of excess mud, whilst providing maximum grip with the available torque.
– Sand Mode: the drive train is set up in such a way that the wheels do not sink when driving under 120 km/h.
4x4 Dangel conversion1
The Opel approved post-production all-wheel drive conversion by Dangel gives customers who need to use their Vivaro in off-road situations exactly what they need. The conversion transforms the Vivaro into an off-road capable vehicle that with a flick of a switch, can be reverted back into a front-wheel drive.
The system installs a hydraulic couple that automatically distributes engine torque to the rear axle when traction is lost on the front axle.
Arguments• Efficient, economic yet powerful engines• IntelliGrip for greater grip and control
on the road while maintaining optimum fuel economy
• Smooth and reliable 8-speed automatic available
Hill Climb Assist
Hill Climb Assist automatically holds the brakes whenever the vehicle finds itself on a slope. When the driver releases the foot brake, Hill Climb Assist prevents backward movement until the throttle is depressed.
Benefits: • Makes parking on slops easier.• Makes manoeuvring out of parking spots
on slopes easier.• Supports the driver while in stop-and-go
traffic that occurs on slopes.
The new Vivaro.Driving dynamics.
1 Run-out end of 2019.
Trailer Stability Control (TSC)
TSC is an additional ESP® function that, when needed, dampens the vibrations of a trailer or slows the vehicle to a critical pace to adjust between the speed of 60 km/h and 160 km/h.
If drastic adjustments are required, the system further reduces the engine torque and brakes the towing vehicle on all 4 tyres in order to leave the critical speed range as quickly as possible.

The new Vivaro.Accessories.
Towing hitch, jaw and pin
The high-capacity tow ball is bolted onto the towing hitch beam. This allows for the towing of heavier trailers. The unit is made out of high-quality steel, and includes a 50-mm ball.Note: towing capacity depends on the engine type (see owner’s manual).
Towing hitches
There is a choice of three different certified towing hitches that are all made out of high-quality steel: • Fixed trailer hitch• Heavy-duty towing hitch• Heavy-duty towing hitch with different
ball configurations
Wooden floor and wooden side protection
The wooden floor and wooden side protection are the perfect solution for protecting the steel floor, doors and side panel of the cargo area. A particular advantage is that even when the cargo is covered with heavy duty wooden panels, OEM hooks remain accessible. Available for all length variants. Only available with slam doors.
High-quality plastic floor and high-quality plastic interior protection
For an extra premium feeling, the high-quality plastic protection for floor, doors and side panels makes the perfect addition. The plastic is heavy duty and very robust, and the floor features an anti-slip surface that helps to prevent the movement of objects that are loaded into the rear cargo. The plastic floor and interior protection are also easily maintainable and cleanable, allowing the cargo to always look its best, no matter what the day’s work brought with it.
Roof rack
The aerodynamically shaped aluminium roof base carrier with its quick and easy universal attachment systems is ideal for roof boxes or bike carriers. The roof bars integrate harmoniously with the vehicle’s overall shape, and are easy to install and secure.
Safety grid
Stable and precisely fitted, the safety grid features a sturdy steel construction and helps separate the cargo area from the passenger compartment. Easy to install, it can be easily fitted behind the rear seat headrests. Rear seat folding and load-through function useable with the grid in place.
Wind deflectors
Wind deflectors can improve driving comfort in a number of different situations. When it is raining, they help deflect the rain, giving drivers greater vision to both sides, and allow windows to be open without getting the interior wet.The wind deflectors help increase the air flow throughout the vehicle, preventing steaming up of windows, and in general provide excellent ventilation on warm days.In addition, the aerodynamic design helps to decrease the level of excessive wind noise usually experienced from open windows.Available as a pair. Only for the cockpit.
All-weather floor mats
For extra protection for the vehicle’s carpets, the all-weather floor mats are especially useful during the winter months. Their raised edges keep dirt and water off of the carpet, whereas the heel guard protects the mats from the driver’s shoes. Fixation points help keep them all in place.
Arguments• Tailor-made for the specific vehicle • Broad choice of accessories• Appealing and robust design • Tested and validated by Opel
