JAS

JAS won Best Foreign Film at City of Angel’s festival. JAS is the story of a British-Iranian teen, trapped in an English seaside town, caught somewhere between a desire to escape and a desire to connect. Writer/Director Alice Trueman won the Red Rock Entertainment Prize and a £5,000 production grant to create her short film. Her winning pitch and screenplay were selected from hundreds of entries by an industry panel. We are very proud of her success.

WALKING WITH ELEPHANTS

A beautifully photographed documentary exploring the problems of impending extinction of elephants in Africa, was screened at Chichester Film Festival. A film which explores the devastating effect that destruction of the elephants’ natural habitat by man, means they may be driven to extinction in less than 10 years.

JULY AUGUST SEPTEMBER

LONDON HEIST

Starring Craig Fairbrass as armed robber Jack Cregan who goes on the warpath after his heist money is stolen and his father murdered, was aired several times on Channel 5.

MADNESS IN THE METHOD

A Hollywood star studded cast appear in this feature length dark comedy which also saw the last on-screen performance of Stan Lee. Madness In the Method was released in theatres and on VOD platforms and had it’s international premiere at Frightfest screened to a sell-out audience. Jason Mewes appeared on KTLA News and the Mario Lopez Show to discuss his directional debut which is available on digital download and as from September, on D.V.D.

STANLEY, A MAN OF VARIETY

In this one-man drama, Timothy Spall is marvellous as a psychiatric patient who brings to life a string of showbiz icons. Stanley has been well received at national and international film festivals receiving over twenty awards at the UK Film Festival and the Marbella, Shanghai, California, Blow Up, Eindhoven, India, Ireland, Chile, Seattle, Cedar City, Mexico, Budapest, Southampton, Oxford and Manchester festivals, winning awards for Best Film, Best Actor for Timothy Spall, Best Cinematography, Best Sound, Best Comedy and Best Director.

AGAINST THE TIDES AKA OCEANS 7

Beth French, an extraordinary woman attempting one of the most extreme swimming challenges, was invited to BBC Radio to explore the highs and lows of her epic adventure across the globe.

OCTOBER NOVEMBER

Red Rock Entertainment were proud sponsors of The Marbella International Film Festival for the 3rd year running; which brings together artists and their films from all corners of the globe to display their talents to the commercial world. As a respected figure in the Film industry, Gary Collins CEO of Red Rock Entertainment was also asked to hold a film finance workshop at the Marbella Film Festival which focused on guidance through the film finance sector. Several British films premiered at the Marbella Film Festival including Brighton.

BRIGHTON

With a dark comedic twist, Brighton compassionately explores the mutual incomprehension inherent in the divide between the middle and working classes. Larry Lamb, one of the leading actors, was awarded Best Actor for his role at the Marbella Film Festival but was unable to attend due to a family illness. This legendary British actor is noted for his huge contribution to film and tv over the years. The highly acclaimed director Stephen Cookson was in attendance at the red carpet premiere.

THE SCREEN DAILY FILM FINANCE FORUM

Held yearly in London, Gary Collins, CEO of Red Rock Entertainment, was asked to speak at the event alongside Dave Morrison from Nyman Libson Paul, accountants in the media industry. The Finance Forum gives a detailed analysis of the current challenges and changing landscape of film and high-end TV finance in the UK. High profile speakers shared their insight on private finance, EIS changes, tax credits and incentives.

Earlier in the year the whole cast of Brighton attended the Dinard Film Festival.

THE CONTRACTORS

This true life t.v. documentary focuses on the life and times of private security contractors in hot spots and war zones around the world.  These men and women do extraordinary jobs in extreme environments. The production company have had several offers from foreign distributors for the series, and have one executed sale that fully meets sales expectations, with several others under negotiation. The production team announced the second phase of filming to commence in the next few weeks. Anticipated delivery is on schedule with global broadcast sometime in 2020

CEO OF THE YEAR AWARD

In November Gary Collins was awarded with the CEO of the Year award by CEO Monthly Magazine. Gary’s work has helped Red Rock Entertainment to give the green light to all manner of projects.

Just a short selection of those projects has involved top-quality British actors such as Timothy Spall, Sir John Hurt, Alice Eve, Stephen Berkoff and Joanna Lumley. Gary’s industry knowledge and expertise has also featured in national news, with commentary on the impact of Brexit towards the UK film industry. As an active and respected figure in the film industry for the 3rd year running, Gary will be a judge at the JETS film contest at Berlin Film Festival.
