Northwest Organization for Animal Help
Our Vision Reduce the number of homeless cats and dogs through spay/neuter and find them forever homes.
Our Mission Statement
Northwest Organization for Animal Help (NOAH) is dedicated to stopping the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable and treatable homeless dogs and cats in Washington State. We are committed to high quality spay and neuter programs available for low income residents, family friendly pet adoptions, humane education, and volunteer programs through our state-of-the-art facilities and Spay/Neuter Center.

Dear NOAH Friends, Serving as President of the Board and an employee of The NOAH Center has been truly a gift...a gift that keeps on giving. Day after day, we see how happy and excited a family can get over adopting their new dog or cat. Making new friends and getting to know our animal loving volunteers. Hearing all the OOH’s and AHH’s coming from the hallway when a visitor see’s the cutest puppy or kitten. The laughs...just because this is a happy place to be. Thank you for the gift of your support and believing in the work that we do.

A Letter from The NOAH Team
Thank you from the Chairman of the Board
Dear NOAH Supporters,
The NOAH Family are my Heroes. I am in AWE of the number of lives saved. We have continued to improve our programs through the hard working volunteers and staff at NOAH. They have kind hearts that improve each life that we serve as well as helping to make ‘happy tails’ for thousands of fantastic cats and dogs. These families that open their hearts and homes, by choosing NOAH to find their special new family member, are my also my Heroes.
NOAH’s dedicated team in the Spay/Neuter Clinic has met the demand for continued services in the communities of Snohomish County and beyond. They wear their heart on their sleeves and lend their skills to ending euthanasia in Washington State. They too are my Heroes!
The financial support you give is vital for NOAH to continue making progress and putting an end to the needless euthanasia of healthy, adoptable and treatable cats and dogs. With your continued generosity, you too bring happiness to so many people around Washington State. You all are my Heroes! Thank you for your support to The NOAH Center!
Charlene Edson, Chairman of the Board

Dear NOAH Donors & Supporters,
We are very pleased to present The NOAH Center’s 2013 Annual Report. NOAH opened it’s doors in May 2003 and we celebrated our 10th Anniversary in 2013. Everyone at NOAH strives to make a difference in the lives of cats and dogs across Washington State every single day. We are privileged to see the power of love with each adoption. We can see the importance of partnerships each time we drive the NOAH van around the state to transfer animals to NOAH. We witness the power of fostering with every underage kitten or puppy that is loved and cared for by one of our foster families. Through our Spay/Neuter Clinic, we are able to help impact our local communities by stopping overpopulation. Most importantly, working side by side with our volunteers, we are able to provide quality care to each animal that comes through our doors. We don’t take this for granted and we promise you that we’ll continue to work hard to make sure that we save even more lives in 2014 and beyond. Thank you for your support! -The NOAH Center Staff Team
NOAH Staff
The NOAH Center’s Spay/Neuter clinic was extremely busy in 2013. Our team of vets, licensed vet techs, vet assistants and clinic volunteers spayed and neutered 8,258 dogs and cats which includes 1,309 feral cats. The NOAH Center celebrated our 60,000th surgery on September 8th, 2013.
We are extremely grateful for all our donors who support our efforts to reduce pet overpopulation through spay/neuter. So many dogs, cats, puppies and kittens were altered in our state-of-the-art clinic because of financial donations. The NOAH Center had 7 sponsored surgery days in 2013 that covered the cost of altering 301 animals. Our sponsored days are free or reduced fees that are offered to pet owners who cannot afford our low-cost pricing.
In addition to spay/neuter, The NOAH Center’s clinic provides necessary medical procedures for NOAH animals that are transferred to our facility. These procedures, performed by NOAH’s professional and trained vet staff, are critical to the health and well being of each animal we serve.
NOAH also launched our Trips for Snips program in 2013. Trips for Snips is a program to transport pets for spay/neuter services for people who do not have access to transportation. There is no extra cost to have animals transported to The NOAH Center Clinic.

Shelter Partners & Animal Transport
5
The NOAH Center’s transport program has 33 partnerships across Washington state in 23
counties. Our local partner shelters receive the help they need first by our “concentric circle approach” to transfers. We help our local shelters first and then move across the state to our other partner shelters to help them place animals when
they are full.
The NOAH Center transfers cats & dogs from overcrowded shelters through our animal transport program. In 2013, NOAH transferred 3,245 animals. This number is comprised of 719 dogs, 212 puppies, 1,189 cats and 1,125 kittens. It is estimated that 20,000-30,000 cats & dogs in Washington state are euthanized each year according to the recent WA Federation Animal Statistics report. Being able to transfer on a weekly basis from our partner shelters is critical to both our missions of saving lives. ‘Transfer Tuesday’ is our day to pick up dogs. A typical transfer day is 12-15 hours long, depending on the destination. Once at our partner shelter, the transport team does a Safer Assessment Test (which takes about ten minutes per dog) to make sure that we are bringing in adoptable “family friendly” dogs. Many of the cat transports are delivered door-to-door by our partner shelter’s volunteers. Through our partnerships and team approach with shelters across the state we are able to cohesively work together to give thousands of cats & dogs the second chance they deserve.

2013 Total Animals Fostered 1,015
With the help of 97 foster families, the
NOAH Foster Program was able to save 1,015 animals in 2013. Many of our partner shelters do not have the space or capability to take on mom cats, kittens, mom dogs, puppies or special needs animals, so they rely on NOAH’s foster program to provide these animals the special care they need. We assisted 24 of our partner shelters with underage animals. Our devoted and hardworking foster families deserve a big thank you! Our fosters provide a loving and safe environment for these deserving animals and we could not save as many lives without them. Thousands of volunteer hours go into saving the lives of the most vulnerable. Several fosters have built special additions to their homes that are specifically designed to house these animals. We would like to give special thanks to all the generous supporters whose donations helped us with needed supplies, food and medications for the Foster Program!

Total 2013 499 69,264
In 2013 the monetary value of the hours worked by volunteers was over $1,450,000! This is based upon the Independent Sectors’ Value of a Volunteer from 2010. Their time equaled 35 full-time staff. Our full-time equivalent paid staff is 26.
We are so thankful for the compassionate animal lovers who volunteer at The NOAH Center every week and make our lifesaving mission possible.
Thank you to NOAH’s Volunteer Pet Heroes!
“Volunteers are the only human beings on the face of the earth who reflect this
nation's compassion, unselfish caring, patience, and just plain loving one
another.” -Erma Bombeck
The NOAH Center’s volunteer program continued to be successful in 2013 with 499 active volunteers that serve monthly in 2013. Throughout the year volunteers help in every aspect within our organization. Part of our mission is to utilize our volunteers based on their strengths. We are fortunate to have so many talented and professional volunteers to help the organization thrive. There is a wide variety of volunteer job positions available: Animal Care Specialist, Blanket Angels, admin assistant, cat & dog kennel tech, dog groomer, dog walker, facilities maintenance, laundry, transport, clinic assistant, offsite cat kennel tech, foster care parent,
fundraiser, and the “face of NOAH” - our volunteer receptionists. All of these positions and more are vital to our success.

Many generous children and teens have helped us this year by collecting money in their neighborhoods, in lieu of birthday and Christmas gifts they ask for donations for NOAH, lemonade stands, food and toy drives and washing cars. 2013 was also an awesome year for local school classes becoming involved in raising money and items from our wish lists and helping with the upkeep of our landscaping. We are so fortunate to have supportive communities throughout the State of Washington. Thank you on behalf of all the animals for your continued belief in our mission.

Music For The Animals

We would like to thank all of our guests, sponsors, board members, volunteers, staff, businesses, Chateau Ste. Michelle Staff and everyone else that helped in all ways big and small. Without your help, we couldn't of had such a successful event.
The NOAH Center celebrated it’s 11th Annual Music For The Animals Benefit Auction and Concert in 2013 and what a celebration
it was. This year’s event raised a total of $258,150.
Music For The Animals was a sold out show! The room was packed full of guests at the Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery. 100 VIP guests were able to bid on silent auction items, gift cards, James Bond theme centerpieces, live auction trips and "everyone" Raised Their Paw which were individual pledges that demonstrated their support to helping animals! We also had a surprise visit from Chris Isaak during dinner, who popped in to say "thanks" to NOAH as well as donate an autographed guitar that was auctioned off. Chris Isaak later performed outside under the stars at the winery as a part of Chateau Ste. Michelle's Summer Concert series. All of the proceeds from the event go directly into supporting NOAH's programs. 2013 Music For The Animals

Our “Ladder Of Hope” member-ship campaign entered it’s second year of existence and continued growing. In 2013, the “Ladder of Hope” membership campaign raised $40,923 and 348 members. A ladder was built and mounted in the gift shop in our lobby for all visitors to see. All the colorful tags are displayed on the ladder with member names engraved. The ladder serves as a wonderful visual of the support we gain through our members.
