GRAND KNIGHT’S REPORT

My Brother Knights and their families: Allow me to introduce myself. I am Richard M. Wielgoszinski, your new Grand Knight. I take this opportunity to thank Charles Waldecker for his past years of leadership and service to our council. My fellow officers and I look forward to an exciting year. The Council and the Home Association are planning several fund raisers early in the fiscal year. You should be hearing about the Corn Hole Tournament and Beer Tasting Fun Day — planned for September. Pocketbook Bingo is in October. I ask that all brothers and their families support our fundraising activities, which allow us to maintain our scholarships. Fraternally, Rich Wielgoszinski

SAVE THE COLUMBIA MAGAZINE As a member of the Knights of Columbus, each month you should be receiving the Columbia Magazine. Please save them. Your Council can use them for recruitment. The contents of the magazine show prospective members what the Knights of Columbus are about and what charitable acts they perform. Drop the copies off at the Council home, give them to Joe Caromano, GK Rich Wielgoszinski, FS Rick Terroni, or any member coming to a Council meeting. Your help with this is very much appreciated. If you know a Catholic gentleman, invite him to join. Joe Caromano

TIME-DATED MATERIAL

IMPORTANT .… IMPORTANT .... NOTICE The editor is not responsible for making up articles for The Observer. He is only responsible for “editing” and

“publishing” the articles (when space allows). Please submit your article in a written form to Bob Barson at 1808 Robinson Avenue, Havertown, PA 19083, or you can

e-mail it at [email protected]. Or, you can hand it personally to the editor when you see him. If you don’t care to write your copy, you certainly can call the editor at 610-853-1450 and dictate your copy over the phone. * Just because an article was in The Observer the year before, please do not expect it to necessarily be there this year! The editor cannot take it upon himself to insert articles. The editor cannot make phone calls to find out the information. This is the responsibility of the chairman of that particular event. The deadline for articles is the 10th of each preceding month. If your article does not reach the editor by then, please do not be surprised or angry that your “special event” did not make the newsletter. The editor is not a mind-reader! * Also, please do not say to the editor, “Write up something for so and so.” If the editor has nothing to copy from, then he will have to make up something, which is not his job and which may lead to mistakes in dates, times and/or monetary amounts, or the way in which the article is worded. Putting your article in a written/typewritten form ensures its accuracy and the timeliness in which the article reaches the pages of The Observer. Thanks so much for your cooperation! The Editor
