Given: Students with disabilities are a vital part of

the school population of learners – general education students FIRST

Students with disabilities are part of Michigan’s Education Accountability System

Students with disabilities have varied needs that are addressed through individualized programs and assessed through appropriate measures in line with the state assessment

Schools that are Shared Educational Entities (SEEs) are currently exempt from being designated in the state’s ranking system

Discussion Topic

Currently, the state’s ranking system is based solely on state assessment results. What other student performance measures that the state currently collects, could be considered primarily for the MI-Access Supported Independence and Participation level students?
