Although we ended last week with a win, the Poly coaching staff will continue to focus on the big picture. To us, success isn’t measured solely by wins and losses.

It’s about hard work, embracing the daily challenges we all face, and the fearlessness each of us must have in order to rise above our own expectations. After speaking with several of our fans, there was a distinct point in Fri-day night’s game when all doubt was erased by unified drive and determination.

2018 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE

FIELD LOCATIONS

During our scrimmage against Diamond Hill on August 23rd, we noticed one fan in the stands that was excitedly pacing and taking photographs of the football players. When asked which one of the boys was hers, she simp-ly stated, “All of them.” Mrs. Johnson, who is the Anat-omy and Physiology and Environmental Science teacher makes it a point to attend all of the Poly football games. She takes pictures of the boys and makes an effort to get to know them through their performance on the field, which gives her the opportunity to make connections with them in the classroom as well. It is evident that Mrs. Johnson genuinely cares about her students and their potential for success.

VARSITY PLAYER OF THE WEEK

“Children can be dimin-ished and discourage by their sports experiences, or they can be strengthened, uplifted, even in some cases redeemed. Sports can be a life-changing experience if coaches understand why they are coaching and redefine their measurement of success.”

—Joe Ehrmann, author

We can’t wait to see how he executes when there are no surprises!
