Changes! Changes! Changes! Ohio CattleWomen Membership

The Ohio CattleWomen’s Membership will no longer be listed on the OCA Membership Form. Please don’t let you membership expire due to this change! If you are like me, I let my husband renew my membership each year along with his membership in the OCA. That will no longer happen. So I will need to be sure to send in my membership myself. There is a small notice in the OCA Renewal packet stating that you can download a membership form from the Ohio CattleWomen’s website, ohiocattlewomen.com. You can do that or send in the form at the bottom of this page. The OCW actively promotes the beef industry by participating in several events, including the Ohio State Fair, Ohio Beef Expo and the Farm Science Review. We support the Ohio youth through awards, scholarships, and programs for 4-H, FFA and beef exhibitions. The OCW also donates beef each year by donating canned beef to charities to support the Cattle Drive for Hunger.

INGREDIENTS: • 1 pound Ground Beef (93% lean or leaner) • 1 jar (15 to 16 ounces) cheese dip with salsa

(salsa con queso) or other cheese dip • 1/2 cup thick-and-chunky mild or medium

salsa Toppings:

• Blue, yellow and/or white corn tortilla chips (optional)

• Diced red bell pepper, thinly sliced green onions, sliced ripe olives (optional)

COOKING: 1. Heat nonstick skillet over medium heat until hot. Add Ground Beef; cook 8 to 10 minutes,

breaking into 3/4-inch crumbles and stirring occasionally. Add cheese dip and salsa; cook and stir about 3 minutes or until mixture is heated through.

1. Cook's Tip: Cooking times are for fresh or thoroughly thawed ground beef. Ground beef should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F. Color is not a reliable indicator of ground beef doneness.

2. Pour beef mixture into shallow serving dish. Serve with tortilla chips for dipping. Garnish with toppings, if desired. Should be cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F. Color is not a reliable indicator of ground beef doneness.
