Evolving Strategies in Minimally Invasive SurgeryJanuary 29 – 31, 2016The Ritz-Carlton 921 Canal Street New Orleans, Louisiana

Needs AssessmentThe field of Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) continues to expand and grow. Practicing surgeons find it important to review current trends and strategies in techniques and managing complications. They must develop strategies to implement better patient care more specifically, as it relates to minimally invasive surgery, endoscopy and robotic surgery. Surgeons are finding that the ever-changing economy is affecting the way they practice, teach and work. It is important for surgeons to understand these changes, how it will affect the care provided to the patients, and develop strategies to implement changes. Lecture and discussion will give attendees the opportunity for ongoing education as it relates to MIS as well as describe changes in the future of medicine, healthcare costs and surgeon training. Course participants will be asked to complete a comprehensive evaluation on utilization and impact of key concepts presented in the course to help measure change in competence and performance involving the strategies in minimally invasive surgery.
