Greetings to you in the name of Christ! As many of you know, this past week I was with my family visiting the most magical place on Earth: Disney World! All of my immediate family and some of my extended family was able to come and spend some time enjoying each other’s company and reveling in all the sights, sounds, and experiences at Disney. With such a large group (and with some of the weather coming through on our travel days) our plans changed more times than any of us could count. Nevertheless, we were able to ride and see most everything that everyone wanted. Even to the point of waiting three hours for one of the newly opened rides (yes, it was excruciatingly long to wait. And yes, it was 100% worth it). Part of being human is wondering, hoping, and planning for whatever the future may hold. We are told to have 5 year plans, and retirement plans, and emergency plans, and back up plans, and vacation plans, and home improvement plans, and then just a few more plans. But despite all of that planning, life never quite goes the way we think. As Christians, we have the great blessing of knowing that no matter what the plan is, and no matter how the plan changes, we can trust God to be with us through it all. As we make our plans and order our lives for the coming year, may we rest in the knowledge that God will be with us. No matter how many times the plan changes. Grace and peace, Rev. News & Announcements

CHRIST'S FACE ON THE COVER OF OUR BULLETIN is part of Christ the Redeemer, or Cristo Redentor, a statue of Jesus of Nazareth; considered the largest Art Deco statue in the world. It is a colossal 32m tall statue. It sits at the top of the 710m (2330 ft) Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park, overlooking Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The monument was sculptured by French sculptor, Paul Landowski. Heitor da Silva Costa, the engineer, oversaw the project. The team of engineers and technicians decided to construct the statue of reinforced concrete, and clad its outer layer in soapstone, which has high resistance to extreme weather. The stones came from Limhamn, in Malmö, Sweden. The statue of Christ the Redeemer was inaugurated on 12 October 1932 by Brazilian president Get?lio Vargas.
